RMN Dissidia Community Project

Name: Hero
Weapon: Bravery
Special Ability: Scripted jumping with Bionic man sound effect
Face Graphic: It's Gordon Freeman
Character Graphic: Orange suit, Brown hair, Beard, Dark glasses
Game Name: Hero Rescue
And what your character looks like when they die: Rotate the walk graphic 90 degrees so he's on his back.
Everything you need is in the game. Download it. Play it. Beat yourself. Enjoy.

What are you working on now?

Rules say this isn't the screenshot thread, but a search for 'screenshot' came up No Results. This is the Only screen anyways as it's really just to see if I could recreate something similar to Mario Galaxy. Some minor graphical errors with the size of the character, and jumping (gravity) is not set up yet but otherwise it works. I have a pretty good idea how to include the front and back as well. The scene is quite busy, I know, and it's done in Rm2k.

People want what they can't have.

It's one of those reasons why people hoard Elixirs, take on convoluted sidequests, and why people always come back for more no matter how many times they get their ass kicked by an optional boss.

You have just given me an idea for the most useless game I have yet to not finish.. one that will be made for me and all I desire in a game

The dumbest idea you ever tried to make

the shopkeeper for an item shop was a pedo-clown. And I was going to plan on making him a hidden boss, too.
an entire game based on the Gummi Ship system from Kingdom Hearts
Power rangers game. ;D
These are amazing. If ambitious one-man projects are considered bad, then you three guys need to get together as a team and combine these three ideas into one game.

The Mighty Morphine Power Pedo Clown Rangers!

... and the funny thing is, when I haven't even finished making the first game, I decided to jump and make the SEQUEL... That had to be the dumbest.

I know exactly how my best game will end, and the music for the credits. Now I just have to start making the 4 episodes before I can see it!

My only fully completed game is a remake of Smurf Rescue for the Colecovision, done in Rm2k. It features Gordon Freeman traveling across 4 areas of scripted jumps with fast-paced "Rise of the Triad" music, and a final 'battle' with a giant retarded rat to the sound of the Bionic Man sound effect. Secrets included: Gordon is reading the Myst Reader (3 novels from the D'ni universe in 1 book), I play the character "The Fool" and there is a surprise ending with a dark nemesis!

The shadow on the bottom 3 waterfalls, the ledges, are straight across. They should be angled I think. Also why do the walls cast a shadow in the water but not on each other?

Rpg Maker game tear-jerkers.

I get teary-eyed watching any scene with epic heroics, like when the loser flies a jet up the pie-hole of the spaceship in Independence Day - badass.

ITT we tell the poster above us why their favourite game sucks

Actually Manhattan Project uses 3D models and 3D level design, but of course you failed to notice that, being a 2D Tile-based fanboy. (I like W2 a lot too :) )

Maybe you ought to try something a little more current like Red Alert 3..

ITT we tell the poster above us why their favourite game sucks

Because it isn't available on Xbox Live

I am quite partial to Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project

Questions you always wanted to ask other members, but felt too lazy or awkward to do so.

If I had infinite money and resources to be the creative drive behind a hypothetical dream project of making a game, I'd totally make an RPG with it's fictional world set in a 1980s motif, pastel colors, synthesized music, awkward culture and all, but with an expected fantastical RPG storyline and tropes.

I don't normally toot my own horn when it comes to gamemaking but I'm pretty sure it would literally be one of the best games ever.

My ultimate dream game includes support for every major genre within the game world, and includes easy to use tools and tutorials to create and add your own content. My ultimate goal is to enable any gamer to look at the next big game release and say: "I could pay $60 for that.. OR I could just use Mike's everything-maker since I already own it". It'd be the next great videogame crash.
