MILENNIN'S PROFILE

I create games because I enjoy gaming, telling stories, writing dialogue and drawing. Making a game is all of those things combined into one. However, my greatest passion with game making is designing battle systems that require thought and resource management within battle itself. I'm always looking into improving my skills, so if you've played one of my games, please do leave a piece of feedback on my page.

MV vs 2003 for 16-Bit Aesthetic

Yeah, RM2K3 is much easier if you just want the 16-bit look. It's possible in MV, but it'll take more time and effort to make it work.

FADE

author=Tau
Oh, why the hiatus?
Sorry, it's been on hiatus for a while now, I just forgot to put it as such earlier. I've been thinking on how I want to proceed with this project, as I don't know if I have the time to finish it if I stick to my original vision of it... With changes in life, I have less time to work on making games. On top of that, I'm also sick of the instability and limits of the RM2K3 combat system; I'd love to remake this in MV, but that would bring a lot of complications with it (most of them script related).
For now, I'd like to stick to making some smaller games that I know I can finish with the more limited time I have now. Recently, I finished my work on a short RPG, thinking of trying my hand at a visual novel project next.

Fanciness and cut-off score

author=Kevincalanor
What would make a "cut-off score" of being "worthy of submission"?
Anything's worthy of submission, as long as it fits the minimum requirements of getting accepted on the site; that's the way I see it. I recently released an almost full RTP-made game, which of course isn't going to draw a lot of attention, but I'm still proud of it. :)

Degica is publishing a VN engine

author=Archeia_Nessiah
Yeah, we're currently designing the VN engine.

As someone who used Tyranobuilder...I can name so many things that makes it not 'easy to use.' For example, on its release, you had to script variables and for some odd reason is not part of the main package until updates later. There's also issues with its Live2D Implementation. Every Tyrano game has the same UI/look because of how limited the editor is for non-programmers. I would honestly say all my gripes on that engine and how salty I am for buying it, but I digress.

When we conceived VN Maker, I wanted to make Visual Novels like Muv Luv, another game I refuse to mention here or Witch on the Holy Night. Video Example:

I wish anyone who uses Tyrano good luck trying to do that haha.

So, it will be possible to create animated scenes in this new VN Maker?

Wow, the official RPG Maker site forum rules are..... wow!

Meh, I have no issue with the rules on RMW; seems fine to me for an official forum. The thing that does bother me about their forums is how much of a fucking mess they are. It's such a pain to do post editing that involves quotes and spoiler tags. Just a simple 'show code' would fix at least 50% of my problems, lol. I can't even properly post anything when I'm visiting there on my tablet. Status updates at the side of the screen show only 2 short lines of text before being cut off (also, no way to unsubscribe from a status update?) Limited options for jumping to the last post in a thread; a lot of the times, I'm forced to go to first page, then click last page and scroll down.
Their old forums were so much better.

RM2k(3) Bugfix Patch/IPS: Consistent z-order of events which are on the same tile, finally!

Nice work, as always. I've had this thing happen in my own game. Good to see there's finally a fix for it.

(Official RM2K3 still not compatible with DynRPG, though? Or is that something that will never happen?)

Admitting Defeat - When A Videogame Breaks Your Spirit

Actually, I forgot about a more recent example, which would be Fire Emblem Conquest, the final mission. Because, unlike other missions, you don't get to plan ahead for this one, but instead you get thrown into it after finishing another the second last mission without saving in between.
I'm like, LOL, what's the point of a strategy game if I don't get the chance to try out different strategies? Especially since I don't know what's coming at me in the final mission (but apparently it's endless reinforcements, which isn't something a common thing in Fire Emblem games, and a wave of damage at your characters each turn).
If you fail for whatever reason, or want to try out different strategies to beat it, you're forced to play through that second last mission every time. At that point, it feels like I'm playing an RPG Maker game made by a 12-year old who thinks his boss fight is suddenly more challenging if he doesn't let the player save in front of it. WTF were they even thinking, lol.

Admitting Defeat - When A Videogame Breaks Your Spirit

Most recent one that comes to mind is Bravely Default, when I found out my guys didn't have the right classes against one of the bosses, and it would mean I'd have to change their classes and grind the hell out of them to gain their class abilities (or whatever it's called). I was like, screw this, I'd rather quit.

Is there a reason he declared a war on the site, or just a random troll who has too much time on its hands?

[FORUM] Registering blocked?

I see. Any estimation on when it'll be back?
