MILENNIN'S PROFILE

I create games because I enjoy gaming, telling stories, writing dialogue and drawing. Making a game is all of those things combined into one. However, my greatest passion with game making is designing battle systems that require thought and resource management within battle itself. I'm always looking into improving my skills, so if you've played one of my games, please do leave a piece of feedback on my page.

[RM2K3] 'Stream read error' everywhere

Strange, because I got a back-up version of the game just now, and that seems to be fine... It's only the version I had auto-loaded in my RM2K3 engine that has this error.

[RM2K3] 'Stream read error' everywhere

Was trying to play my old RM2K3 after some years not having worked on it, and suddenly getting constant 'Stream read error' messages for all sorts of things. How does this happen?

Game Magazines

A Dutch gaming magazine, that somehow still exists to this day, I used to read back in the late 90's and early 00's. Best part of it were the funny captions they did with game screenshots, meme'ing before it was cool.

Smash Bros RMN - What would your abilities be?

I'll use my main OC, Roth, for this.

NORMALS
Jab/combo: Sword slashes, then an electric blast from the palm of his hand in their face as a finisher.
Dash: Dashes a small distance forward at lightning speed when activated, knocks foes up into the air. (much like Fox B->, but shorter)
Forward: Sword slash. (like Marth)
Up: Sword poking upward.
Down: Sword sweep.

AIR
Neutral: Curls up and performs a somersault using his sword as a saw blade.
Forward: Extends hand to send forth an electric blast.
Up: Upward kick. (like Mario's jab finisher, but aimed upward)
Back: Extends hand the other way to send forth an electric blast.
Down: Kicks downward. (like Palutena) Functions as a meteor.

GRAB AND THROWS
Grab: Grabs with one hand. Keeps his arm straight while holding the foe.
Pummel: Sends lightning through his arm to shock the foe.
Forward Throw: Blasts the foe with electricity from his hand.
Up: Throws the foe a short distance upward, then immediately follows up by launching a lightning bolt at them that sends them flying further up.
Back: Turns, and then blasts the foe away with electricity from his hand.
Down: Throws them at the ground.

LEDGE ATTACK:
Swiftly gets back on the stage and performs a leg sweep.

SMASH
Forward: Forms a lightning boomerang in his hand that grows bigger as it's charged. Once released, it'll travel a distance (farther at higher charge) and then return. Moving forward, the boomerang briefly stuns the foe, upon returning, the boomerang becomes explosive, blasting foes struck by it.
Up: Shoots a rapid bolt of lightning straight up, gaining more power as it's charged.
Down: Sends electricity through the ground, creating a wave of pillars of lightning that move outwards from both directions. Pillars rise up higher and travel further as it's charged.

SPECIALS
Neutral: Charges himself with electricity. Attacks are powered while charged, but loses an amount of charge per attack that is performed.
Up: Briefly charges with electricity before launching himself upwards at lightning speed, knocking away foes in his path. Angle can be aimed slightly while it's charging.
Forward: Lightning kick! (like Captain Falcon) Creates an explosion upon striking a foe or object, that will cause Roth to jump backward.
Down: Roth gains an electric shield that blocks small projectiles. Can be detonated manually, or automatically after a short period of time to deal damage to all foes nearby. Can be charged to last longer.

FINAL SMASH
Targets a foe nearby in front of him, then rapidly dashes horizontally through the foe at high speed, striking each time he passes the foe with sword and lightning. Finishes with his back turned at the foe, and then a massive explosion occurs at the foe's location (because badasses are too cool to look at explosions).

GENERAL QUOTES AND SOME ANIMATIONS
Intro: Dashes in at lightning speed. "Let's get this over with."
Taunt:
-Strikes a cool pose. "That's what you get for messing with the GOD OF THUNDER!"
-Does a thumbs up pose at the camera.
-Somewhat relaxing pose. "That's all?"
Winning:
-"Get shocked!"
-"Respect the GOD OF THUNDER!"
-"I was only just getting started!"
Sent flying into background: "I'll get you for this...!"

PALUTENA'S GUIDANCE:
-Pit: (shocked) "Man, this guy is no joke!"
-Palutena: (neutral) "Oh, him?"
-Pit: (thinking) "Yes, him -- who is he, anyway?"
-Palutena: (thinking) "Apparently, he calls himself the God of Thunder."
-Pit: (shocked) "Wait! He's a god? Like, an equal to you?"
-Palutena: (laughing) "No... or well, not that I know of."
-Viridi: (smug) "So much for asking your goddess for information. What a useless answer!"
-Palutena: (neutral) "Why don't you educate us, Viridi?"
-Pit: (angry) "I hate how she keeps bumping into our conversations like that!"
-Viridi: (smug) "Now, now. You want the information or not?"
-Pit: (disapproving) "Fine, go ahead. Tell us all you know, please..."
-Viridi: (neutral) "The guy over there's Roth. He's just an ordinary human with nothing more than an unhealthily big ego."
-Palutena: (thinking) "A mere human, huh? He fights surprisingly well for one."
-Pit: (motivated) "That's it! I can't let myself be beaten by someone like him!"
-Palutena: (smiling) "That's the spirit, Pit! Be wary of his lightning powers, though. His Photon Shield can be used to block your arrows!"

[RMMV] Glorious Garbage Games help request

In addition to the above, you might want to reconsider your studio name. I doubt many people not knowing you are going to have confidence in a team calling themselves 'garbage', especially when you've got nothing to show them...

New game dev working on a 1st game

My first game didn't have battles, but it had mini-games and lot of dialogue. Worked out just fine. It's probably easier to make, because battle takes up a lot of time to make if you don't want just the default stuff.

What age range are the characters in your games?

For my older games, they were all young twenties.

For my new game, the main cast is between 15 and 45, as well as a 1000+ year old elf and a divine being. Going for some more variety with this one.

I was bored, I put together some DBZ sprites for VX Ace

Should probably credit the game they originated from: Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors.

RTP Review

Yeah, I'm taking the things I learned from this game and use that to make my next game better. HERO will definitely be easier, at least early on, and there will be an (optional) tutorial to teach the basic mechanics of battle.
HERO is going to have the story and dialogue to give a more traditional RPG experience for people playing it the first time, but there'll be an option to auto-skip all of that if you want to replay it for the combat, since you won't get to play everything on a single playthrough.

Anyway, thanks again for the updated review, and for willing to try the game out for a good number of playthroughs.

RTP Review

Thanks, I just read the updated review and I'm glad to see you enjoyed your last playthrough a lot more. I can also see you did pretty well with getting full score on survival, so congrats. :D

What is the other screenshot, though? How and when did it show up, and what did it do?

Will be waiting for your full reply when you've got time.
