Intrinsic motivation is the best kind of motivation, and that holds true of course even beyond the realm of gamemaking.

If you're looking for feedback on the current build, I can give it a whirl when I have some time. I like what you do and you've been a part of the community since as long as I can remember.

And even then there is nothing wrong to have an intention to make someone's level designing and chipset usage improved. That and your insult is uncalled for.

i thought i was being hilarious

i didn't see the submission in it's entirety so i don't have all the facts but the game being denied because of sub-par visuals seems pretty inconsistent with alot of the games that have been submitted (and accepted) over the years. from what i've seen so far in this thread, it's way better than other games submitted, even up until recently. i'm guessing the submission in it's entirety was lackluster but then the biggest problem aren't the graphics

Combat, stats & dynamics

The "elements" weren't very complex initially (though I still can't really find where I put the document), basically revolving around 5 or 6 elements and that was before the whole firearm/sidearm thing.

But yeah, I've been fiddling with some numbers and planned out some equipment/skills and I don't think I'll be needing more than four (melee/ranged/blast/energy) - since the game doesn't have any "magic"-users (in a traditional sense) and features a couple of "non-lethal" weapons that don't inflict damage (relying on status-effects), I would agree that having a bunch of elements with really minor variations just clogs up some kind of proposed strategy. Also, the only time that, say, a fire weapon would be less effective against a human would be if said human were decked-out in some kind of futuristic getup that might as well be a combat/power armor (protecting against all anti-personell weaponry, which would include melee/ranged, categories in which for instance, the flamethrower is located)

I'm looking for Cynon's "Name 73" Demo 4.0; there's an old link for that specific version (as I myself only have the 3.0 version... I think). The biggest difference should be a playable desert level which does not exist in mine.

look, what I'm trying to say is that you should probably change the color of, at least the regular font, to something actually readable, probably a lot brighter (or almost completely white)

I don't remember but I am actually playing on my regular computer up to the point I was at last. I encountered a minor bug where my movement speed got increased somehow, at the second briefing on mars with del wraa, in his office (possibly earlier)
