No, it doesn't look right. That tile is used for creating shadows in the interiors, you can't apply outdoor mapping with indoor ones.
The shading just needs to be applied on the edge of the walls to show off that there is a shadow/light source in the room. Right now it looks like the room has different levels of elevation. The Refmap doors need to be replaced as well.

Best Boss Fights

Nobody gave Metroid some love.

I thought the bosses in Metroid Prime were very well done. In fact, almost all the Metroid games have very challenging(and unique) boss battles. There are so many of them I can't even name them all(I'm sure most will know what I'm talking about if they've played Metroid).

Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4 is my favorite video game.
W....What about Dragon Quest 8. I thought that was your favorite.
Has it been trumped?

I really can't contribute much since I don't have a PS3. From what I've heard though, this game might even beat GTA4 for game of the year. Now that would be something.

So maybe we should lower our standards a tad.

I guess you mean in terms of story telling right? I edited my other post a bit, so you could get a better idea of what I meant.

Basically if the game is fun, I don't care if it's saving the world from Neclord the evil demon. As long as I'm enjoying the game I'm satisfied.

So maybe we should lower our standards a tad.

I think it has to do more with who is more well known in a community more than anything else(which I think applies to all communities). If your with the "in" crowd, the more attention your project seems to receive.

I've tried to lower my standards, but I really can't. If a game doesn't capture my attention within the first 5 minutes I shut it off. I can't stand stupid intros with text scrolling about some random war that I don't care about.
By the way if the game is fun, I don't care if it has the worst storyline ever. It's fun, which is all that matters to me. The story does have the potential to make things more interesting, though.

But I agree with WIP. Integration is the key that most people seem to lack.

Action Games in Rpgmaker

Nobody can name one good action game in RPG Maker.
Maybe Idunn Ymiraldor but that's it.

It just doesnt work. Either use another engine or try in RMXP.

Was there any RPGmaker game with a battle system that you liked?

Forgotten Origin
Tara's Adventure
Balmung Cycle
Velsarbor
The Legend of the Philosophers Stone
Rose Chronicles
Idunn Ymiraldor

I really enjoyed Tara's Adventure. Lachsen(creator of Velsarbor) helped create it and it's basically a Final Fantasy battle system that works really well. I haven't been impressed with any DBS except Forgotten Origins, Balmung, and Rose Chronicle. Most really are unbalanced.

Let's Play! Final Fantasy IV Edition! ALSO A GENERAL FINAL FANTASY DISCUSSION TOPIC

Hey man, just wanted to say you're doing a really good job with these. This is hyping me up for the DS version of the game.

Keep on going. This is really cool stuff. I've always been a fan of the Let's Play things people put out.

Top Ten Topic: Favorite Video Game Villains

Female villain? There's always that one witch from FF8.
Yeah but she was a horrible villain(IMO). Sarah Kerrigan is easily the most memorable female villain for me. She started off on the Terran(Human) side of the war, but she was the first to become a mixed breed of Human and Zerg. She eventually evolves and grows as a character, the whole process is really well done. I could be wrong about that since I haven't played Starcraft in a while.
She's pretty damn evil too.

There's also Miang from Xenogears, but I can't put her in the same category as Kerrigan.

That looks pretty good, but is that place floating in the sky or what?
The cliffs really throw off the perspective. I can't tell if they're floating above the water, or are supposed to be submerged into the water. The waterfalls don't look too good, but my guess is they're fine in game. The stairs at the top left don't fit really either, and it just messes up the perspective even more. And why is that huge sign at the bottom of the map when villagers won't be able to read it? It would look better next to a building.

It's still a great map. I like what you did with the houses. It just confuses me when I look at the cliffs.
