Your stuff is MINE

I'm probably overthinking this again, but I never really understood why someone would try to steal an item from an enemy they were going to fight and defeat anyway. Wouldn't you get that item either way after you kill the enemy that carries it? And why can some items in some games only be obtained by stealing them from living enemies, but not looted from their dead bodies?

The only answer I could come up with is that attacking an enemy could bring the risk of destroying the valueables they carry. As an example, there is a passive trait in The Drop (I think it's called "Forceful Blows") that increases a character's attack power but lowers the item drop rate, because the character hits so hard she tends to damage their stuff when she crushes enemies.
A principle like this could possibly make for an interesting twist of a battle system, where each attack has a chance to decrease enemies' item drops. Defeating an enemy the normal way would then still be very possible, but result in getting less loot. That would make stealing interesting as a "safe way" to obtain an enemy's valueables without running the risk of destroying them.

The Makerscore Tutorial

I always thought that the main effect of Makerscore, apart from showing that you actually contributed something to the site, was that it increases your lockerspace...
Generally, I agree with nhubi. Makerscore can result in you being more respected on the site, but it doesn't necessarily have to. I like collecting Makerscore, but it's not at all an objective indicator of how "important" you are as an RMN member.

Remnants of Isolation

Don't worry, urano, I'm not going to sue you. ^_^

By the way, glad to hear you are making so much progress with this, Red_Nova. It looks pretty good so far. Are you going to release a (beta) version before the contest deadline or will the game only be available after the contest has ended?

Master of the Wind

@Mngwa:
After you've read enough people's minds to gather all necessary clues, you need to read Cassie's mind again (she's the woman in the armour shop). You'll then be shown where Cole Marin is.

Remove one letter from a games title to make a new one.

This thread needs some more RPG Maker games:

The Dop: A psychological roguelike set inside the mind of an alcoholic.

Ra Fell: "What will happen to our civilization now that the gods themselves have fallen?" A survival adventure that takes place in a post-apocalyptic version of ancient Egypt.

Master of the Win: An incredibly boring game where you always automatically win, no matter what you do.

Hero's Real: A comedy RPG that sarcastically portraits what would happen if superheroes existed in the real world.

Reaming Mary: Help Mary deal with the overwhelming challenges of her life - by cheating everybody else really hard.

The Gumpy Knight: After he travelled back in time to the Middle Ages and was accidentally knighted, what adventures will Forrest Gump have to face next? Do you have the gumption needed to survive in this weird RPG, or will you just try to run away?

Miss the Sunrise: A surreal beauty contest simulation where female lizard people compete for the title of Miss "The Sunrise".

To the Moo: "Goat Simulator" was only the beginning. Experience the exciting life of a cow in this brand new game.

Edit: Blast! I just realized nhubi already came up with Reaming Mary before me. Sorry.

By Arcadius, that's one of the most intimidating character portraits I've ever seen. Rustek doesn't look like someone you mess with, that's for sure.
Huge respect to Enkur (as I assume he's the one who drew this).

Master of the Wind Review

You're welcome, Volrath. I found it difficult to explain my thoughts about this game and why I like it so much, but rest assured that I'm 100% sincere about everything I wrote in my review. And yes, I'm still glad that e-mail directed me to this game.

About your future projects, well, if you managed to make a game as great as Master of the Wind, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do it again.

RMN Album Vol.1 - Befuddling Tracks

Time for a comeback! I figured what this album was still really missing is an intro track. So, here goes. What do you think?

(I do not actually watch this series, so make no assumptions.)

Intro (Pokémon Theme Song (original))

I wanna make the very best
Game that ever was
Creating them is my real test
Designing is my cause
I have travelled across the land
Searching far and wide
Communities that understand
My game ideas inside

Chorus:
RMN!
Gotta mak that gam!
It's you and me
I know it's our destiny!
RMN!
Oh, you're my best mates
In a world we must create!
RMN!
Gotta mak that gam!
To your game be true
Our engines will pull us through!
You play mine, and I'll play yours!
RMN!
Gotta mak that gam!
Gotta mak that gam!
Yeah!

Every error along the way
With prowess I will face
I will gam mak every day
To claim my rightful place
Join in with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Skills combined, they'll come to light
The games of our dreams

Chorus

Gotta mak that gam!
Gotta mak that gam!
Yeah!

Edit:
P.S.: TungermanU, now that you have submitted so many great tracks, would you mind if I removed "On RMN" from the list? As I see it, it was more of a joke anyway...

Sunken Spire

A new Indrah&Fomar game, featuring Elsa and Alma?! I am so subscribing to this!
Good luck with this project, I'm already looking forward to playing it.

[Poll] Your favourite magic element!

My first choice would have been healing magic, but that's not really an element...
So, obviously, I'm going with Darkness. It's an underappreciated element, always associated with evil for nonsensical reasons. But powers like self-concealment, blinding or inducing fear allow you to avoid or defeat an enemy without even having to hurt or kill them. Now, that's positive, right? Right?
Nature, Time and Water would be high on my list, too.
