Hi, I'm OldPat, an italian indie game developer. I'm trying to improve as much as I can, hoping to reach a professional level one day.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Been playing RE7 recently. They finally, finally, FINALLY managed to deliver a survival horror game. No more Chris on steroids, no more Las Plagas bandits with uzis and sniper rifles in warzones (RE6), no more Leon body-slamming zombies. Just good ol' fashion horror.
RE7 feels exactly like the old games in the series with the only difference being the fact that you play it in first person mode. I'm loving it a lot so far.

If I may suggest, do the full ITA version first and then translate it to other languages when everything is carved in stone. It'd just waste your time to translate something and then have to change it because you changed something in the ITA version.
Yeah, that would be the best thing to do. Translating while developing the game would've result in having an ENG release (almost) ready together with the ITA one. But yeah, it would make things difficult for me if I have to change things.

It's very low in resolution and... relatively simple, without that many details. But I had to use it for a 320x240 resolution so I figured it would've been best to work with a low resolution and without adding too many details.
I like how her pose turned out to be.
The in-game version looks like this:
The city was added later. It's not a drawing I made.
I'm really bad at drawing backgrounds. I think it's time for me to think about practicing a bit with those.

The Featured Game Thread
Pocket Quest! definitely deserves a feature! It's techically flawless and really good in all of its aspects. It's a really solid, complex and entertaining game.
Little Briar Rose (not Brair, guys xD) could be a good pick as well. I've completed the "free version" (the RPG Maker one) for now, and I liked it a lot. The art style is superb and it's a fun game overall.
Erayu and Huntress of The Hollow look really good too. I still haven't got the chance to play them, though. But screens and presentation talk for themselves. They look pretty good.

I like the little animation. Using an updating title screen is always an awesome idea, even if it is a lot of work. It's a really good titlescreen prototype.

I still need to work a bit on the shirt animation, and maybe add some sort of hair animation, but I like the results so far.
I want to add a lot of things in the title screen, so this is only the beginning.

Nobody should complain about you making a game in your own language. We English players should count ourselves lucky that you're cool with having your games translated into English. Just sayin':)
It's no problem at all. If I could, I would translate the game in every language possible. And I would really like to deliver already translated material, but I still have to decide if I want to translate the game while developing it or after the Italian version is complete, like I did with the first Karma Flow.
Not that it would've taken me that long to translate those HUD elements. I'm just... I suppose I'm just lazy. xD
