Not really! Comparable to your typical RPG Maker project sure there will be a bit more, but it's not excessive at this point! Several things that I have mentioned through blogs and such may not even be seen in a future release. And unlike most devs here I detail the majority of my mechanics through the game page and as they're implemented.

You are seeing more about mechanics on Diabolica only because I mention them much more frequently than one might typically see from others. Also, many mechanics are small/minor mechanics that do not add any discernible complexity to the game but still have a function or are a component of a larger mechanic. (Not to mention nothing is permanent; any and all mechanics are subject to removal.)

I like letting people know I'm working on this. So by releasing details relevant to what I've been working on, I'm both communicating that and providing information that anyone could use or look at for future reference.


Ah I see, well I was a bit worried because if there was a lot of mechanics than I'm gonna have to memorize the all. I'm excited for the next release! But take your time.

Regarding the skip command (RESOLVED)

well, there won't be any bugs or random nametags if we don't use the skip command to begin with, right?

Besides, I can't imagine what sort of eventing and nametag stuff would not be able to be skipped, are you using a script? Because most cutscene crucials are easily condensed if you're doing this through eventing
An alternative would be to implement a text skipper that makes dialogue go really fast, or if you got some rgss in your hand, allow a fast-forwarding of the cutscenes. moghunter has a script that doubles the gamee's speed on play mode, that'd be a clue

of course, i do'nt see the game reallly getting too hurt if you do choose to chop it off, i mean if it's better for you do it, it's better than keeping something bogging you down


The skip command is a script, you add 2 labels between the cutscenes "Cutscene" and "End Cutscene" When you skip, the switches will still go active but anything else will not.
Regarding Moghunters fast script, it only occurs during test play, I use it everytime

Dis game is pretty oh em geez, gonna put this in my envy playlist.
Though one thing bothers me but it's quite minor. "i" should be capitalized all the time. (Ik your first language is not english FYI).
BTW the on-map enemies don't seem to chase you.
Here's a great tutorial on how to create on-map enemies (though it requires one script).

For the ennemies, that was made on purpose but you're probably right. I'll use this tuto too.


Making the enemies chase you can make the game more balanced, if you can just walk pass enemies and their just like "meh, whatev" that kinda ruins the tone XD. Good luck on your game BTW.

Over 500 songs, you can also search for what type of song you look for, like a setting, genre, style, etc. Plus every song is free!
