PROFESSOR_Q'S PROFILE

I've been a fan and follower of RPG Maker games of all sorts since 2012. My all-time favourite has to be "Love and War: Act I", closely followed by "The Way" and "Romancing Walker". (Yes, I'm weird that way!)

I'm not particularly good at game design, though I can write plot-lines reasonably well. While waiting for the rest of Love and War to come out, I've also written three full-length stories set in the Love and War universe, which you can read over at the Love and War forums. (I go by Professor Q over there, surprise, surprise!)

I also enjoy reviewing games, though I tend to write about games I enjoyed playing. If a review of mine sounds critical, it's meant to spur the developer to do better.

I'm also experimenting with RPG Makers XP and VX, so watch this space.

I haven't quite got as far as you have, Kumada, but I agree with your review. ^_^

Interesting review, Professor_Q. I got a question for you. What happened in the True/Good Ending? Can you explain it to me? What happened to Ai? Also, Kya90, have you received my messages to you yet?

As I see it, the True Ending has Ai escaping from her father's bondage and gradually (over time) healing from the effects of the physical and sexual abuse she has undergone at his hands. However, the specifics are left very vague. =)

Chelsea Review

Glad that you liked it, and thanks for making a great game! I look forward to playing anything that you come up with in future.

Also, I picked the song because (a) it sounded a bit like the awesome "credits" theme from Chelsea, and (b) the lyrics sort of fit the game's theme if one squints hard enough. =)

Kissing Foes Review

Good review. I would have liked this game a lot better if it had been, uh, an actual game. Walking into every NPC and hitting the action button is a good way to get flavour text, but it can't be the whole game! ^_^

Infection Review

Good review. I really should try this game now! ^_^

Imaginary Friends Review

The teddy bear was inspired by the save points and "Game Over" screen in your game; darn, that Game Over screen just made me want to give Hailey a big hug. =(

Glad you liked the review, and thank you for your wonderful game! I've put it forward as a nominee for several Misao award categories. ^_^

Luxaren Allure Review

Whoever selected me for the What's Written on the basis of this review, thank you very much! I think you really do like me! (hat tip to Sally Field. ^_^) (The credit should go to Unity, though, for making this awesome game.)

I often have trouble coming up with titles. In this case, I thought the word Allure both spoke to the romantic aspect of the game as well as capturing the feeling of a somewhat remote island land that would (before Darkloft) have enticed many. I wanted both the setting and story to be somewhat "alluring."

Whether or not that's the best word for what I was trying to capture, I can't say. But it clicked with me and I thought it sounded nice ^_^

That's a wonderful explanation! I sort of figured it had something to do with the romance aspect of it, but the rest of it eluded me. Thumbs up! ^_^

It's because we thought it would be the last game we would ever produce as a company, and it was a fantasy game.

Ah! Now the truth is revealed: in ancient Naga language, "Luxaren" means "Final", and "Allure" means "Fantasy"! Thanks for the translation tips, Merel! =)

Luxaren Allure Review

No, thank you for creating an awesome game that I shall soon begin replaying on the next difficulty level! (I used "easy" with "very easy" for the tidal caves, because I'm lame that way. ^_^)

Now I really must get back to playing Weird and Unfortunate Things, which I downloaded a while ago but simply got too busy to play in earnest. Toddlers tend to have that effect. =)

Looking forward to your future games, and don't sweat my "Ten Commandments" stuff - since I'm not a God of any sort, they can probably be broken with impunity under the right conditions. ^_^

One silly question, though: why "Allure"? I love the title, and it's certainly way better than, say, "Luxaren Quest", "Hero of Luxaren", "Luxaren Prophecy" or "Luxaren Fantasy", but what was the idea behind it? =)
