>New Game

Watching Let's Try's has been really eye-opening in this aspect. Unfortunately right now I just can't let go of the introduction to the game I have. It's fairly cliche, but I prefer the game to build up momentum as I go. You spend about 15 minutes just getting a grip with the games bearings, which builds up into the game's first battle sequence. When I get to beta-testing phase I will be asking for opinions on the intro- if it is too long and boring, I will ask if they would like an engaging battle sooner, or if that intro should just be cut out completely.
As for intolerably long-ass intros, if they're engaging and give me some grip on the story then it's ok. Especially in replays in terms of fore-shadowing, I like to laugh at a game, story or movie when rewatching it and recognize the foreshadowing. I do that a LOT during the Hulk movie with Eric Bana :3
And, maybe a long ass intros are good, because if the gameplay and battles are horrid then I'll wish that the intro was still playing :/

Mugen Character

Actually though the topic's main line is rather vague I have to admit I am also curious as to the creation of MUGEN characters. How does one go about coding skills and special attacks and connecting them all up to character graphics and sound effects? I was actually thinking about making my own MUGEN characters so it it's an interesting inquiry.

Tai Kou Boi? Taco boy? oO

I really love the look of this though! Are you using KGC for your battle system?

Count to 10

You do realize that the last topic like this got unceremoniously carted off to the crap pile almost straight away, right?

What are you currently reading?

I recently read Deja Dead and Death du Jour by Kathy Reiches, the novels the TV Show Bones was based on. They're really fascinating books! They've really changed the portrayal of Temperance in the show- in the books she is much more social adept, and has a seventeen year old daughter. They're fantastically written and highly emotive, I recommend them to anyone who likes crime novels with a bit of a twist (the cases in both the novels are rather twisted, I must say)

What are you thinking about right now?

I guess Australian internet doesn't suck as badly as first thought -3-

BUT LOOK AT MY AWFUL UPLOAD TIME ARGH

Lowering your standards and finishing your game

Darkseed: Revival was initially going to have full character portraits for cutscenes, a boss for every floor rather than one at the end, and a much more detailed insight into the original story. I eventually settled on emotion facesets rather than the portraits because two weeks was just not enough time to do four complete sets of portraits. I also wanted to have animated battles and a much more full-on battle system, but that didn't work out either. :C
But I've sworn to try and not do that sort of cutting down from now on, since DS:R is a fucking shitty game because of my laziness and time constraints. I'm slowly working on a much better version and if I had the time and the effort in the first place maybe I would have to make DS:R into DS:RR* haha ;3;

Booble's art stuff

Omigosh Garnet!! <3 That looks excellent, booble! I love the way you've drawn the headband, it looks so shiny and metallic '3'

I spent a whole day pixelling.

Levis_house.PNG

I changed this map because this map is stupid. (Because I am)

Plus all artwork of Levi's house has him living somewhere 'normal', and I'm counting a) artwork of Levi on a purple couch and b) Volume 2 of the comic.
