Just a game dev who primarily uses RPG Maker VX Ace and enjoys writing and composing the most. I love horror games, adventure games, JRPGs, and practically any game with a compelling story.

A brief description of my projects:

Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story (Complete)

A high school dating sim with a dark twist. While you begin the game as a normal teenage boy looking for a date for prom, you'll quickly find yourself in the midst of a bloody, horrific mystery. Gameplay is primarily story and exploration driven, with numerous surprises for those who take their time to explore, with a touch of macabre adventure-style puzzles.

Turovero: The Celestial Tower (Completed)

A traditional JRPG that slowly unfolds into a deeper, darker mystery (I think this is going to become a theme with my games...). Play as four archetypal heroes ascending a mysterious tower to defeat an ancient evil, only for them to find that things aren't quite as they seem. Gameplay is a mixture of dungeon crawling and turn-based battles with plenty of environmental puzzles to solve, as well as a choice-driven narrative with multiple routes and endings.

[RMVX ACE] Battle message for status effect nullification

Quick question, is there any way to make the ActionFailure vocab (or even a custom phrase) appear when a status effect gets nullified by, say, a piece of equipment the actor is wearing? Right now it doesn't display any message at all when the effect is nullified and it just looks weird. Not a game breaking bug or anything but I'd like to at least have the game acknowledge it worked LOL.

I really want to make a trailer for my current project once this next section of the game is done but I'm dreading going back and collecting footage for it hgngmghgnghgmggh

and I can't just ask LPers for their footage to use since they played an old demo build

Haven't played long, but it's a good game!

I like the battler graphics and the custom playable character graphics. I also like that you can hotkey each character's special field ability. Also, there is some good dialogue sequences during which the player gets to know the character's personalities.

The field abilities really open up a world of possibilities in this game. Knowinng when and where to use them seems like it may end up being a major factor in the player's success.

I wonder, are the field abilities going to be changeable? Or are the four initial abilities the only ones that are available? Also, I noticed that no matter what order the party's in, the field abilities are called in the same way. In other words, I could set Ruby to the front, but the sniper ability would still be called from '4'.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to playing here and see if I can reach the 2nd floor.

The artists worked really hard on the artwork (and still are, I'm getting resources for the second half of the full game in as we speak and am about to commission ending artwork soon...ish) so I'll let them know that they're getting complimented! :V

The field abilities will not change throughout the game, however there will be a relatively diverse amount of ways to use the same ability. You'll see a bit of this in the second floor, particularly with Edric's "Ember" skill. Additionally, the script I'm using for mapping the skills to hotkeys doesn't allow for in-game customization, and I wouldn't want people's muscle memory to get in the way of gameplay anyway, so for now they're going to stay the way they are.
