RAMZA'S PROFILE
I've spent a large part of my 26 years designing video games, mostly in my head. When I discovered RPG Maker 2000, I finally had a medium to put my thoughts down into, and I did.
At the time of its release, Mana Conquest was massive - even a ten hour long game was insane in those days, and the graphics kind of sucking was generally overlooked, due to the scope of the project.
Several years since, and I'm a bit embarrassed concerning how bad the first game really was. I've tried to fix that in the sequel, but between when I started, and now, there have been three new RPG Makers, and since they don't allow backwards compatibility, I've been stuck on RM2k3. Shameful.
I've come too far to quit now, though.

the only thing I ever saw that could change the font in rm2k3 basically renamed the MS Gothic UI (or whatever the font was called) and copied one of the other good fonts and gave it that name. It looked decent, and it worked well, except for the fact that it would change ALL rm2k3 games on YOUR computer, and could not be permenantly saved to a specific project, meaning if someone downloaded your game it would still have the same crappy default font it always had.
I don't know if someone made some kind of patch for this or not though, a lot of my information is outdated, lol.

How long have you been working on your game?
I'm almost embarrassed to say it, but I've been working on my current project since... May 2002? That's a pretty liberal estimate, I don't have any of the work from that far back, and the original game I released at that time was Terribad, but it had the same name, and the current project is really a major evolution of the original.
Of course, during that time I:
-Made a crappy demo that no one liked (not even me, total nubcake game)
-scrapped that demo, recycled some themes and characters into a new teaser demo that was almost unanimously awesome (game2)
-made a two additional demos from that game, a shorter one, and a longer one, reaching almost 3 hours in length.
-scrapped that game and turned the series into a trilogy, starting work on the first game, which had little to do with the first one.
-made 2 demos for that game, 2 years later the full version was released.
-started work on Vengeance (the second part, and re-imagining of game2) made a demo a few months later.
maybe I'm just lazy, but in the past few years I really haven't done much of anything on the game. I made the magic system a few days ago, and that was honestly the most work I did on it in the last 6 months.

How do i make a Demo?
If your game is complete and you want a demo to entice people into playing the full game, simply copy the game's folder, rename it to PROJECT NAME - demo or whatever, and add in an event at the point in the game you want the demo to end. Thank the player for playing (or whatever) and give him a gameover, or return to title screen. Remember to remove that event in the full version of the game.
If all you have of the game is a bit you want to release as a demo, add an event at the end of it, doing the same thing as above, zip it up as is, and rename it to PROJECT NAME - demo. Again, remember to remove the event in the full version.

Mana Conquest: Vengeance
I would just like to advise the general public that the intro in this demo is virtually identical to the ending of the first game. As such, it will also ruin the ending of that game. if you have any intention of finishing the first game, I suggest you do it before playing this demo, thanks.
Mana Conquest
Thanks for the comment zenla. The ending is pretty anti-climatic, but it is designed to feed right into the sequel, it isn't so much a 'bad ending' as it is a cliffhanger of sorts for the next game.
There were originally meant to be a few more accessories in the game, a bracelet that slowed time down was planned as a story based accessory (like the STR Bracelet), which would help you get through certain traps and such, but eventually the idea was scrapped in favor of the 'avoid the monsters' room in the final dungeon instead. Stat raising accessories were a bit of an oversight that I didn't really realize until the game was near it's completion. Glad you enjoyed it though :)
Incidentally, I don't recommend playing the demo for MC Vengeance unless you don't mind the ending of this game being ruined for you. If you have any intention of playing this game through, I wholeheartedly recommend you do not touch Vengeance until after you've beaten this one.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Just started playing Dragon Age Origins. I also just got my 360 banned from xbox live. Oh no microsoft, please don't stop me from paying YOU a steady sum of money to play on your gaming network and potentially pay YOU more money to download things on it! Whatever will I do?
I don't use live much, as you can tell. I'm absolutely crushed (not.)

Hello
Welcome. It's good to see another member with a nice aspiration for rm2k3. I hope to play your project someday soon.

RAR File Help
winRAR's free trial will continue indefinately after the trial period has expired as well. If you open the main windows after the trial period has expired it will tell you how many days it's been since it expired. No other limits are imposed on you though, so it's more like shareware/freeware than a free trial. That's some damn fine design right there!
