Every time I come here, I find something new. This status option for example. Hm...

I will wear it with pride- er...

I appreciate the thoughtfulness -er...

I'm glad you think someone like me was worth your time.

Every time I come here, I find something new. This status option for example. Hm...

... And this is why I'm terrible at parties. I can't carry a joke.

So here's the punchline: I'm passing Marrend's use of the words God and Goddess onto you.

I would never think of myself in that way. I'm a humble man, you see. I'd go so far as to say I'm the MOST humble of all.

Much better!

Psst, unity, I think he's talking to you. Not sure why he's using a plural though...

Haha thanks!

I've got final exams tomorrow and I should be studying for them. So far the only thing I'm learning is the ins and outs of this site. Which is fine by me.

Welp, just realized the bug. At least the review average is correctly displayed among the list of games.

This is no bug. It's a total violation of site rules and pathetic self-praise. The smiley faces on the review average proves that he is 100% aware of this.

And now it's back.

But it doesn't matter now, does it? This whole mess generated what he was after all along: buzz. Nothing puts a spotlight on something faster than some good old controversy. Look at all the attention this game has now as a result. I can promise you it wouldn't be nearly this much if Nouin hadn't acted this way.

Yes, I do realize I'm being a hypocrite for posting here and contributing to the buzz I just condemned. But when Nouin put the CSS back up, I get the feeling this whole page will be gone soon anyway.

So congrats, Nouin. You're a very clever man. Cast the net with a strong visual style, generate some controversy to make said net wider and wider, and sit back and watch as we practically reel ourselves in. Very clever. Although the fact that you resort to this kind of tactic speaks volumes about the actual substance of your demo.

This is what I do when I draw art for my game:

1) Hand draw and scan it in. 1:30 hours

2) Open up in your image editor (I personally use GIMP) and instantly re-size it to the correct ratio. 15 seconds.

3) Use that lovely Line Tool to trace the outline for everything. Since you have a background as well, you would probably be better off tracing the character on a different layer. 45 minutes.

4) Now, if the character is still too thin, you can re-scale the character without messing up the background. 10 seconds.

5) Color. Because you're working with a smaller image, it's much quicker to color and shading is easier as well. Still a lot of time, but you can get it done quicker. Then again, I suck at shading, so it'll probably take you much less time.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Then again, I'm not exactly the best artist myself. Take what I had to say with a HUGE grain of salt.

Somehow Eve is even thinner.

Other than that, though, it's much better! The outlines are much more defined and it's easier to tell what is what.

Villainous Event?

A game focused on a villain... So wouldn't that technically make them the protagonist? Especially if you're focusing on the villain's point of view in the game.

This definitely seems like a good idea. There would have to be a lot of restrictions, though. My game certainly has a villain, but the MAIN villain of the game isn't exactly a PERSON. Since there is more than one type of antagonist, I'm going to assume from the articles that you had an external villain in mind when you thought this up.

Have you ever played the DS game Sands of Destruction? It's like a typical RPG, but instead of saving the world, you're out to destroy it. But every character in your party is pretty much a typical RPG archetype. Would they count as villains?

Maybe I'm over thinking this. Regardless, I think this idea is great.

The time is right, and the moons are in alignment!

Played it. Beat it. Loved it.

Unity pretty much covered all the points I wanted to make. I just wanted to point out that while story is usually the first thing I jump on in game feedback, I didn't really feel like the story of Okiku got in the way here. Sure, the last fight was abrupt, unsatisfying and ended the game on a rather sour note. But while every part of my brain was like, "The story is lackluster and boring! You should hate it!" I just... couldn't. Probably because it wasn't trying to be epic. So I didn't take it too seriously. And that's fine.

... And then I proceeded to blast that doubting part of my brain with the Wand of Blasting. Seriously, that had to be my favorite part of the game.

Question: When you have the choice of donating to the church box or stealing from it, what changes? I didn't really notice a difference. I thought it would have done something special for the final boss, since Ryoko did say that Okiku's actions may have had something to do with what monster is summoned. But it didn't. And that made me rather sad.

Anyways, congrats on the game! I may play it a couple of times. Give myself some challenges, like play at a level cap of 20.
