Mafia?

To make clear, the rules I've set require a lynch to end the first day, this does of course help the mafia, but they are outnumbered...

Mafia?

To make my job easier and to avoid errors, when you wish to nominate someone please put in bold:

I nominate person

If you wish to withdraw a nomination please put:

I no longer nominate person

I will treat all other comments as being purely discussion.

Mafia?

Ok, we're going with:
geodude
rabitZ
Shinan
Little Wing Guy
Idida1
Jericho
YDS
Koff
Yellow Magic

I will assign roles via PM, I will be dealing out the following roles:
Game Makers (guys who want to survive so they can make games)
Artists (keep someone alive at night by drawing a fake)
Scripters (write a script that determines whether someone is mafia)
Planners (Planners can talk to each other at night, i.e. are allowed to exchange game related PMs in the night phase)
Mafia (Guys who want to kill the rival game makers, can talk at night, and can between them choose someone to kill at night, who will die unless an artist protects them)
Role Blockers (Can stop someone else's special from working, e.g. if you pick the artist their attempt to save a life will not do anything)

Each person can be one or two of the above, e.g. you can just be Mafia or you can be a Mafia Role Blocker, you can just be a Game Maker or you can be a Game Maker Scripter.

I won't necessarily give out all of the above specials, I'm not going to reveal the exact list of what roles are featured. Note, there will be two or three mafia.

From now on can only people who are playing post in this topic, as soon as you ahve your PM you can start talking about who you think is mafia and making nominations for a lynching, each person has only one nomination to use, though you can retract it and nominate someone else at any point. As soon as someone hits 5 nominations they will be lynched and the first night will start.

Story:
It's a sad day at RMN, this morning a skilled Game Maker was found hanging from the ceiling, with a note explaining that a Game Making mafia was in town who didn't want any competition and that all other Game Makers who carry on with their projects are in their sights, some people chose to flee, others did not...

Let the nominating commence:
Remember don't post until you have your pm, I have sent all the PMs, so PM me immediately if you haven't received one

The unbeatable battle.

In The Way there were victory conditions for the plunges, in the first episode, they didn't have the enemy getting defeated, more you getting a bonus for having lasted a while. If I remember rightly. Rhue is meant to be a n00b at plunging though so it makes sense...

Quick question about tutorials

The current maybe 1/3 done version is 28284 characters.

Mafia?

I guess we could have a bit of rule discussion, the last time I played, days lasted until someone had the majority of the votes, this sometimes took multiple real days. It was perhaps slightly too slow.

Quick question about tutorials

My logic behind the single lengthy tutorial was that someone looking at the start or the middle and seeing very simple stuff and at times somewhat abstract stuff could also look to the bottom and see making a battle system etc.

I guess I could split it up but add an overview of all the sections to the start of the first one.

Quick question about tutorials

So I've begun typing what is becoming an absolutely huge tutorial, (from no scripting knowledge to scripting everything required for an RPG in sphere is the idea) I'm wondering if there are any guidelines for tutorials, I've searched the site but failed to find any (this may be a human error on my part though I can be inept at times).

Am I in danger of passing a length limit? (When it's done it will probably be 30 pages or so)

Are there any other requirements or guidelines I should be aware of?

Mafia?

Current people to ahve sad they want to play:
geodude
rabitZ
Shinan
Little Wing Guy
Idida1
Jericho
YDS

Anyone else who wishes to play should specifically say so in the next 12 hours, I'll start the game in aproximately 12 hours time.

The projects we regret

To add more flavour to this discussion we could try saying why we regret these things...

So the game linked in my first topic, I regret as I named it fun, whereas whatever it is it definitely isn't fun, it's a lame somewhat lame one on one battle featuring a pseudo rock paper scissors concept (attack beats fierce attack beats defence beats attack, except different combinations do different amounts of damage, and there are random numbers involved, each amount of damage is rolled on a roll table and ends up varying widely so it is utterly luck based, add to this that the combatants are represented by coloured rectangles, and that the whole game is solely the one fight, and, yeah, why is it called fun?

The kill pokemon game I regret because I started it, got discussion going on a forum about it, and then really felt like doing something else and also realised that I don't actually like the image of pokemon with bullet wounds...
