I Draw Indie Comics Now

Hey everyone. I appreciate it's been a while since I've floated around these parts. Day job and fatherhood committments aside, I've also started to draw indie comics. So far, I've created two comics, Arcadia (a one-shot) and Superheroes Ltd #1.

Both of them were admittedly funded using my overdraft and credit card. It's now time to create and fund Superheroes Ltd #2 and I've got a Kickstarter running to ensure that we can get the new comic finished and printed.

4 days and £350 to go. I believe we can do it! Just remember to share the Kickstarter with your friends and family, spread the word, and we'll get there!

Superheroes Ltd #1 has been reviewed by Pages & Panels, who described the comic as "a comic with fun and vibrant artwork and a solid, amusing script."

You can read the full review here http://pagesandpanels.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/superheroes-ltd-by-sam-webster.html

I have also been interviewed by A Place To Hang Your Cape. You can read that one by following the link below

How to increase internet speed for gaming?

Is it me, or does the US always get stiffed when it comes to internet providers?

RPG Maker VX Ace On Steam In The UK (And Half Price)

Yeah, have a bad habit of constantly being logged into Steam and Skype, so it doesn't really impact me.

RESIDENT EVIL SHOOTING SYSTEM FATAL SCRIPT ERROR (game hangs in balance)

The knife sounds really messed up from Travio's most recent post about timing requirements and priorities in the script. You said the script as a whole feels clunky and unintuitive, but this is based on Resident Evil's systems (the older ones), where the controls were awkward on purpose to strip the player of their sense of power and make them feel far more vulnerable, to the point they actively avoid combat altogether.

RPG Maker VX Ace On Steam In The UK (And Half Price)

Not sure if the offer is still on, but in the past week, Steam had RPG Maker VX Ace reduced to £24.99, half price. It's caused me to actually pick it up. I was quite surprised though, because whilst there was an English language version released in the US, RPG Maker's website has always quote prices in USD, this is the first time I've noticed it being officially sold in the UK.

She's beautiful! so, did you name her Meryl?

Close, Maya.

You know sleep? Like, when you go unconscious for 8 hours and feel good afterward?
Yeah, you don't get that for a few years.

Oh trust me, we've been very quick to find that one out! XD

I'm Now A Father

I know I've been in and out of this site for a while now, and I know I'm probably not the most reliable or frequent visitor of this place, but my kid's now been born, almost two weeks old. We're happy, healthy, and my little girl will probably mean I'll continue to only be able to drop in occasionally.

Photos for the curious!

How did you get started in RM ?

A friend of mine in high school gave me a CD after class and just said "When you get home, pop this straight in your PC. You'll love this!" On that disc was RPG Maker 2003. Had a lot of fun making terrible, and unreleased, games until I eventually hopped into the online communities.

... I was expecting porn.

Easter eggs

Easter eggs demand that the player not really see them unless they go looking for them. Blasting through the game, not deviating from the regular path, 99% of players should not discover an Easter egg.

Exploration and the hunt is the biggest factor in the fun of tracking these things down. You shouldn't know if there's an Easter egg there, you should be checking every nook and cranny of a game you love and trying to get past boundary walls and areas that simply appear to be inaccessible.

I'm considering putting a face down, dead, Batman in a non descript alley in one of my towns. Interacting with him only gives you the message "Some crazy fool in a bat costume." It would be in an area of said town that you ordinarily wouldn't visit, and would require going through a non descriptor door, through someone's home, and out of their backdoor, to access the alley.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

After playing a lot of RPGs, I've found myself back with RPG Maker XP, fiddling around, seeing what I can put together. Looks like my sprite work has gotten really rusty so far, as proven below.
