Ermmm... Not much to say. Because I'm crazy on aesthetics, I make my own chipsets. Unfortunately, I have looping issues. And I think the grass is too bright and the dirt looks ugly. But it's a start, I hope. =)

I need a good scripter and also design woes.

Hmmm, I think I like Al's fourth design the best. Perhaps this is because the brown jacket (third) looks kind of boring, and the one with the black jacket (second) makes him look too much like a pirate.

I'm not so hot on Julia's alternate costumes, partially because it sort of looks like Auria's makeover in Vacant Sky (long story...), but mostly because black isn't her color. She looks more natural wearing white, or a lot of different colors put together.

RMN Sketch Attack!

Tablets okay?

Unfortunately, I don't have good memory, and I'm too lazy to look up a reference. Oh well~ =D

I am needing an Artist for a Final Fantasy fan-game.

You know, usually, when you invite someone to a project, you give them details. I don't mean to sound rude, but it's not really appealing for someone to do "anything that looks final fantasy". People want plot, people want characters, people want more than "just a final fantasy tribute". You don't even have a game page up, how are artists supposed to know what they're signing up for?

If I were you, I would put up a game page, a brief prologue/plot summary, and some character descriptions at the very least, and then come back here to look for an artist. =)

3D model software?

Does anyone know any good 3D modeling software for beginners to start out with?
Something free and legal would be really nice, but commercial products are okay too.

I don't plan to use it for a game, I just want to try it out and see how it goes.

Religion and the After-Life

A lot of misconceptions occur because people tend to think of God as a vain deity who sends people to hell because of Catholic dogma. Let's not try to rely on that too much, as they have a history of perverting the word of God for their own means in the past, and unfortunately, some of that is still around.

Pascel's wager doesn't really make any sense. You could believe in God, say "heck with it" and sin all your life, but your belief won't get you into heaven. Witness many ancient Israelites-- they had every reason to believe in God, yet they went on paths to their own destruction anyways. So let's not rely on him too much either.

I think Fallen-Griever, by pointing out the "why does God let evil be" argument, deserves an answer:

Because God is not a petty tyrant, He wants His children to love Him freely, meaning they must have the choice to love Him. By giving them the choice to love Him, He is also giving them the choice not to love Him, and also the choice to sin. So sin is an unavoidable result of free-will.

But God doesn't like it, because sin hurts other people. You accuse God of permitting evil, but He really doesn't want to-- witness that the punishment for sin is death. Fortunately, because God loves us, He made a loophole in His own law, and that loophole was Jesus: Through Jesus, people can avoid death by sin.

Eventually, God will no longer permit evil, and thus eliminate those who want to continue their sinful ways. So really, the fall of Adam and Eve was a good thing-- it was an opportunity for God to prove His loving character to the universe.

I hope that makes sense to everyone. I just wanted to clarify, even though its a bit off topic. =)

*sniff* It's beautiful.

Forever's End Review

Wow. Just wow. If I here Nico, I'd probably want to hang myself on my ceiling fan. It's one thing to point out the flaws of a game, its another to call it an irredeemable piece of crap, and the score on your review tells me exactly that.

I know that a lot of people here think that RPG games are serious business and the internet doesn't care about your feelings, but seriously? We're supposed to be a supportive community. We're supposed to point out the positive for someone who has spent YEARS making this game. This is not celebrating the mediocre. This is about showing respect to those who put time and effort into a piece of work made for free for people to enjoy.

Also, I would appreciate if people stopped attacking each other. I know I'm being hypocritical, but the only solution would be to just delete or lock the review. People have already said all they want to say and need to say. It's time to move on.

RPGMaker games need more romance. I approve. =)

Maybe it would be better if you made the rest of the room a bit darker, because with those shadows, I expect a lot of light and dark contrast. Maybe for indoors, you could also do blurred shadows, because houses typically don't have the type of harsh light that the desert sun produces.

Religion and the After-Life

Computers have arguably brought more trouble into my life than they have convenience or enjoyment. It really bothers me how dependent we are as a society on computers.

Speaking of afterlife, if you read the Bible closely, the Jewish word for hell, "geyena", actually just refers to "death" rather than any sort of infernal dungeon where non-believers burn eternally. If God is a God of love, then he wouldn't want people to suffer eternally, it just wouldn't make sense anyhow. The only mention of hell in Catholic understanding is one of Jesus's parables, and the parable wasn't really about hell anyways.

I don't know about you guys, I like the idea of heaven. As a not-so optimistic person, the idea of eternal peace with all the people you love seems just great. Think of all the books in the library just waiting to be read, and who knows what else is in store? The human mind obviously can't comprehend the divine. If anything, I'll finally have enough time to work on and finish my RPGMaker game.

Edit: To answer your question, I think religion is necessary to move onto a higher plane. Why? Because, frankly, humans suck. There needs to be some sort of transformation (probably by a higher power) for them to do so. Even if you aren't Christian, that concept seems simple and logical enough.
