SHADDOW'S PROFILE

I am a 30 year old amateur game developer. I love to do anything that involves creation; making games, art, music, brainstorming. It doesn't matter, I can and will do it all.

I am very familiar with RMVX and Ace and a bit familiar with XP, and love to help people out. I am currently working on a project, Lullaby, with Jonnie91 and I hope it'll be a great success.

I never know what to say about myself, so if you want to know more, you'll just have to ask me.

Infuriating Questions of a Newbie

Changing the battle system at all would require at least some minor scripting. I'm not enough of a scripter to tell you how, sadly, but I know there are a ton of much more simple battle scripts out there that you might find useful.

I think you should fix the lily pads personally. They are nice, but sometimes it is fun to accidentally realize you can walk on something. They also just look really out of place as they are. Like LockeZ said, they look like ground tiles or panes of glass and it stands out far too much.

I finally got passed the lily pads and noticed the rest of the map. It is pretty and the clutter that you can't access strongly reminds me of games like Secret of Mana and such, it is very nice.

Aesthetically it's very pleasing, it's well designed and the art is nice...I just can't get over the random panes of glass....

Where End Times Saddest Songs Review

I actually figured out the forest map by random wandering the first time, lol. It was a nice touch. I really did like the puzzles, even if I felt like I didn't know why I was doing them.

Secret Santa Surprise~ 2012

I have to admit that I don't know who mine is, I'm far too new XD. I do know that I got a review, and that makes me rather happy.

Favorite RPG story and why?

Almost all of the games on your list would be on mine, Acrpyt. Suikoden II is my favorite game of all time for story line for sure. I also really love the Xeno____ series as well.

I would also have to say that the story in Bioshock was just incredible. The first and one of the few FPS that I really really like, it is actually one of my favorite games of all time.

Without a doubt, Chrono Trigger. How can a silent protagonist make me care so DAMN much? Why did you have to die? Whyyyyyyy?!

I have not played nearly enough RM games like I should have, but i'm very interested in these ones that have been listed, so I will likely check them out!

I do have to say that Final Fantasy VI is probably the greatest of them all, in terms of story at least. Team Kefka ftw.

Uh, I'm sure I have more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

What areas of RPG making really hinder your project?

If I could say any one thing, it would be npc dialogue. I don't like filler dialogue so I try to make everything matter in some small way, even if it is just world information.

I also like to make my npcs say up to 4 random things, just to add to the tediousness XD.

I also would have to say, my inability to stick with one skill. I like to try new things, and as I gain a bit of skill in one, I start to focus on it to the exception of the others, even if it means doing things not related to my projects.

for example, I am a fine eventer, started doing it and got good, but then I thought I would try my hand at spriting, got decent at that, and now I focus mostly on it, even doing requests for others before my own work...bad habit.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

So I know it is for kids and what not, but I just started playing Pirates 101, it is pretty good actually, nice combat, fun universe, and I love me some pirates. I cannot remember my pirate name offhand, but if you decide to start playing, let me know. I'll play with ya.

I agree, Rhyme. That looks simply amazing! I love the skill set up and everything. If I had to say any improvement, it may be in the choice of battle music. It's amazing, but it takes a bit long before it really starts to sound like battle music.

What I mean is, the soft part lasts a bit long, it feels like scenario music, which for some bosses can be fitting, but after it picks up the pace, it really sounds amazing.

I came for the punch and pie

Glad to see you here, I'm actually very interested in your game idea, if you implement it right, it sounds like it could be really amazing.

I assume you have VXA now? That is a major jump, especially after not creating for so long, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. Hopefully this game will be amazing and wont' break any copyright laws in the process XD.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I used to play League of Legends, made it like two matches from Level 30. I got sick of the unbalanced champs (Garen) and the community as a whole. Most people are just not fun to play with, and it only gets worse the higher level you go.

Also this describes it pretty well:
