Hey all! I'm recording one last podcast with Shinan and OldPat. Any questions?

Calling me a developer seems a bit... generous.

How does this site save submitted games? I worked on a page for 2 hours and I closed it now I have to start all over again.

They are not automatically saved. You have to do it manually by pressing the submit button. (if the mandatory screenshots are not there it won't show up in the submission queue, so you can continue to work on it later)

Owls. Everyone is fond of owls.

Except for mice and shrews.

If you have a question about the site were do you ask it?

User Feedback?

hmm, should I include this torrid lesbian romance in my game even though it's not *strictly* necessary to the plot?

Kill your darlings.

so i "bought valkyria chronicles remastered" at GameStop...by which I mean they sold me an empty Valkyria Chronciles box. ah, GameStop, don't ever change...

Aren't most games empty boxes these days. Just a steam code on a piece of paper.

FINLAND WORLD CHAMPIONS

I need help. I'm looking for inspirations for a game I'm making. Anybody able to point me to some good life simulation games, particularly those that do things like relationships, time systems, stats and story-based games that involve choice?

Crusader Kings 2 is the ultimate life/relationship simulator. Probably a different more procedural approach though.

Titanic vs Avatar (2020)

Titanic was just Jaws without a shark.

How often have you been in the cinema this year? What movie did you last see? Do you also use movies as inspiration for your own games?

I go to the cinema as often as I can. This month alone I've seen Robin Hood (so bad it's awesome), Mortal Engines (okay I guess), A Star is Born (Lady Gaga is left-handed) and Aquaman (So much happening!)

It helps that I live less than 500m from the local theater.

These moves rarely inspire too much though. I mean one in a hundred might inspire something (Hotel Artemis made me want to run a tabletop campaign inspired by it, but I saw that in July or something)
