I am into just about every genre of game really. My brother and I grew up dabbling in RM2k3 on occasion to the point where hearing the RTP soundtrack brings a wave of nostalgia, so I'm most familiar with that engine as far as RPGMaker goes.

Small suggestion for your weapon stats heuristic: Swap how many hands are used with its effect, since my guess is that all weapons will use 1 or more hands (duh.) but also that not all weapons might have an extra effect.

I'm just going to post a comment here, saying how I appreciate your description of how you rated the game out of 5 stars, especially on a site like this where oftentimes people will have their own idea of what the scale means.

Easy Mode Demonstrated.

Could you also add a "medium difficulty" mode where you DON'T tamper with the amount of damage taken and received, but still have all the floaty platforms that block instant death traps and such?

2-Day DO SOMETHING Challenge!

What a coincidence that this was going on when I just decided on my own to continue working on my game (the most I've done in quite a while). I didn't submit anything, but I've been spending this week fine-tuning a lot of things.

I think you did a good job of laying out the town, and I don't see any height inconsistencies with the cliffs or walls. My one complaint is that you can't see the bottoms of the small bodies of water (you only used the underwater cliffside tile). Unless the bodies of water are tremendously deep, you need to use a different tile in those places.

Also, I realized that you weren't consistent on shadow placement. Some places lack shadow, while others are too long or too short. For example, the west-most building with a sign (potion shop?) has a shadow that is too long by one tile, compared to the weapons shop/building. I think the structure next to the inn could use one MORE tile of shadow.

The shadow stuff is polish that can definitely be done at a later time, but I thought it was worth pointing out.
