[rm2k3] Dealing with lag
[rm2k3] Dealing with lag
Like a step in place animation. I've learned that a long time ago don't have everyone moving at once. You can have them step when they move... but not step when they don't move.
You don't have to delete them, just don't make them stop.
edit >> how large are your maps?

Have less constantly moving things. Like don't have the character / events / NPCs walk in place. That's a big one. You can have them walk, but not walk in place. Like the old Dragon Quest characters always walked in place.

Length of games, number of characters, and various other things!
I'm still always shocked when people complete my game and that's 12 - 20 hours long and I made it in a month. I don't really think people finish games on here unless they involve a lot of fan game-ism like graphics and characters.
Otherwise I'd say make a game 20 hours. It's not tough at all. You can do that with 5 towns and 5 dungeons. Final Fantasy 1 used to claim 99 hours with 13 dungeons.

Dragons Dogma, anyone heard about this RPG from Capcom?
This is a good play video. Makes me more interested. I remember when Dragon's Age 1 or 2 came out this game was announced and a lot of video game 'media' just LOLed saying Konami's version of Dragon Age...
