SKILLED OVERWORLD MAPPER NEEDED

hmmm looks like a double post....

SKILLED OVERWORLD MAPPER NEEDED

Good question Ken.

Grand Theft Auto V

That's how I feel about Vice City vs San Andreas. Sure San Andreas is clearly a bigger game and better in half of the ways. But I guess a negative was the police missions being a lot more challenging (not in a good way). Radio stations were very normal and not crazy. The commercials were crazy. Cars felt better to drive because there wasn't a driving level up system.

You know... 3 people should get together to make an RPG. They each create 1 big town 3 small towns and 5 battle areas. Then call it RPG San Andreas... or something similar.

Those first 25 XP are.

That last one is not. I'm currently doing a cliff one for the same person.

Grand Theft Auto V

I own GTA4 and all of its expansions... but I haven't played them. I have so much games to catch up on. Now with this GTAV trailer people have been talking about how GTASA was better than GTA4.

RPGM2K3 - Standard item treasure chests - how to copy and paste?

Personally I'd make a common event for all treasure chests to use... and use an actor name to call the prize inside... like...

ACTOR NAME 100 = "blue potion"
call open treasure chest

open treasure chest:
if ACTOR NAME 100 == "blue potion"
gain item +1 blue potion

I just played more. I'm 3 hours in and level 7 and yes it did get better. There are better moments and worse moments. The worse moments are even worse than the meh moments of the first mission. By bad I mean everyone is a superhero. Nothing feels super about it when there are a hundred of you out there. Makes me think that if things got that out of control we'd see the military or at least more than 1 officer...

I don't think its the lack of abilities that make the game not fun. I think its the fact there is no danger and I'm just clicking a lot.

There seems to be a continuity issue in the fact that... I beat Scarecrow... therefore his mineons shouldn't still be on the street causing chaos. I should be taken to a new server or a new section where they're all gone and replaced by bums or citizens or police officers... maybe with the occassional purse snatcher or jail break.

I felt that it got better with the Scarecrow mission because I was by myself before finding Batwoman. Or maybe I was the only one that made it that far, but I doubt that.

After the scarecrow mission and race patrolling through the city I stumbled upon what looked to be the villain's first mission. So I went around there being a jerk and killing the people they are trying to defend. Well I only assume its trying to defend. Since it was someone I could hit surrounded by cops I couldn't hit.

Maybe I just really don't like MMOs. It feels more like this is a time killer and not entertainment or creative or productive. Like busy work. But maybe that's what MMOs are. I didn't really see any social component. I could chat... but no one was chatting even in an area with a bazillion heroes.

It doesn't feel like a superhero game so much as a MMO with superhero paint over it.

And its meh. I don't really play MMOs, because they're boring click fests. This is no different. The start quest was very meh and I had an interesting bug at the start of it that wouldn't let me out of the first room but drained my health dead because I took so long.

Customization is fantastic and I saw a Bayonetta flying around after the start quest. The sad thing for the game is 75% of players haven't even reached the first achievement.

Combat could have been less click based and more action oriented given the subject matter. My powers of wall crawling (not that I asked for them) seemed to be pointless as a stealth character when you're forced to click kill your way through enemies to get to the next section. Couldn't I at least stealth kill while clinging to the ceiling?

Melee combat could have been a lot richer. There is a block, an attack, a special attack and a jump button. But I would have liked some diversity, like a jump kick... or a push block right as the enemy attacks to parry, or dodging or hold left and attack for a jab, down and attack for a kick.
