The Visitor Review

Thank you for your thoughts, kory. I'm happy you found it decent, what with me only having laid a week on it, after all. I can't really find anything that I disagree with in the review, and maybe sometime in the future I'll make some of the changes you proposed (probably not though, since I'm lazy).

Rust and Blood Review

Right now, actually.

Rust and Blood Review

I've made alot of changes to the game after the contest changes and this review was a great help in doing so, thanks.

I have a question

SPOILER

I was out past 21:00 only once. It got dark, I had that overlay like in the last picture of this review... but nothing else. Was anything else supposed to happen?

Answer:
Depends on where you are. More monsters spawn, it obvously gets darker, and some other minor stuff happens.

Rust and Blood Review

The fact that the game had your attention to the point you forgot about anything not game related is good enough for me. Mission accomplished.

Rust and Blood Review

If you think this version was hard, you probably would have hated the version I had one of my friends play. There was also a thirst mechanic, less food and more enemies in that. Figures. I removed those to make the game easier, actually.

Glad you liked the sound and atmosphere, I'm quite proud of them myself. Probably my best piece of work in that regard so far in my "career".

T'was a fun game to make, maybe some day I wil revisit it and prolong it so that those areas that feel "incomplete" won't feel like that.

Rust and Blood Review

Thank you! I removed all text that would make you think there are several recipe books, along with the tabs in inventory. I'll upload new screenshots and remove the ones that has thirst bar and stuff at a later date, too.

Rust and Blood Review

Thank you for your thoughts. Really too bad that the audio didn't record for the video, I would have loved to check it out. I'll address a couple of your thoughts:
I actually at first had already added thirst mechanics and even some recipes that you needed into the game (along with now unused graphics), but after having a friend playtest the game and telling me it was too hard, I decided to remove it and simplify it by just having hunger.

I also did indeed plan to have more recipe books initially, for example various grenades that you could make, but there aren't enough enemies to warrant this, I felt. Removing the thirst recipes also kinda removed the need for more recipe books, so there's that, too. I should probably remove the recipe books tab in the inventory (and the misleading text).

I finished the game a bit earlier since there is currently a storm going on here (and will be for the next few days) which is why I needed to finish it before it hit (I could be without electricity at any time).
So I finished it a bit early as a precaution.

Star Stealing Prince Review

I can only agree that bashing a reviewer for not being "good enough" at RPGs is a stupid thing to do.
The players overall experience should be the basis for the score given. Which judging from this review, is how the score was given. He/she thought it was frustrating and unfair and I believe it is entirely in his right to think that.
The review could have been more well thought out I guess, but it's not as bad as some seem to make it out to be. Personally I think some people here disagree just because they like the game themselves and disliked the score that was given.
I haven't played the game myself so I probably shouldn't say too much, but if as some say the best way to win boss fights is through status effects that does not always hit, I can understand where he is coming from. I would be frustrated too if I had to rely on the dice to win me fights.

Is this specific score the absolute truth? Probably not. But that's what average score is for, and this game has plenty more reviews.

Miserere Review

I guess "fangame" got a bit of a negative ring to it nowadays, with there being heaps and heaps of them (most bad). Maybe I should use "inspired by" in the future, heh. Anyway, Yeah, I'm certainly still making games, here's the project I'm working at right now: Reap and Sow
