I would like know if using the attack animation for a battler can use the weapon graphic. IE Fire Slash uses the weapon instead of the character simply punching the foe.
Well the problem is that my characters can use multiple weapons and the same skill but if Hero A uses Skill A, he will punch his foe instead of using a sword or a spear depending on what he has equipped.

I'm interested in seeing a Final Fantasy style targetting system where you can either cast the spell on one or all foes for reduced damage.

Assuming you are asking for help on that...
I haven't tested this yet, but it pretty much looks like this.
I'm sure there are better ways but this is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

I have considered that BaconAndEgg but I'd suppose it works better with weapon skills. I mean let's say casting Fire x amount of times leads to learning Fira.

Hey everyone.
I have come up with the idea for a magic system where the main character learns magic the more he casts a spell. Per every spell cast, it increases the variable by 1 until the spell is learned. My problem is that I am wondering if there is a way to track the number of times a spell is used so that I can assign a variable, let's say the Elemental EXP, so that it increases.

But I suppose in theory you can do something linking a skill ID.
I've considered that but let's say Fire Slash has the skill ID for a sword skill where the battlecharset is attacking with a sword when he/she is equipped with an axe. I suppose that I can have Fire Slash as Switch based and change to use different variations depending on the character's weapon such as the sword version of Fire Slash or the axe version of Fire Slash.
