Just plugging away at it when I can. It's going to take a long time as I'm only one woman doing this, but I'm definitely making some progress when it comes to mapping. =)

Is there Libra in this game to see enemy's status and Resistances


That is one spell that didn't make it in for practical reasons. Between the new enemy HP gauges that pop up whenever you inflict damage (allowing you to keep track of how much damage you're dealing), and going on what you may remember of resistances/weaknesses from the original version of FF IV (much of those are similar to the original's), I figured that Libra wouldn't have as much of an impact in this particular game.

That, and after trying to get the thing to work after hours and hours of trying, it just wouldn't work for me. So I told Libra it was mean, and then scrapped it. =P

oh also, since there is a total of 9 playable characters, you mind making the characters in combat be 4 than 3? I can understand if it was 6 in total then 3 in combat is reasonable, but if it is more than 6 then 4 would make a lot more sense since you have a lot more to choose from. Plus the option to switch party members in combat like FFX did, if you can.


I'm keeping it to the 3 battle member limit like in the OG version (since I'm building the enemies with 3 battle members in mind), but I do like the option of switching out party members in combat like FFX, so I'll try to implement that for a new feature to the game.

Not yet, and probably not for a long while unless I have a whole team working on this with me lol. I *am* still working on it in my free time, and I may upload a screenshot here and there from time to time, but that's about the extent of things until I get at least get done with Disc 1's content. Once I've done that, I'll upload a demo and then plunge through the rest of the game. I don't like showing updates until there's been significant progress made, but that's on me. No worries though, the game is still in production.

Wow I didn't expect anyone to reply to this thread after so long, but I'm always glad for the feedback! As for drawing some portraits, if you'd like to try your hand at it go for it. I made the portraits using the generator with all the sprites (you can see them on the game page's image gallery).

Yeah, these are kind of small, aren't they? Do you prefer they be redrawn? Because I'm pretty sure my drawing program can enlarge these to the proper size without distorting them.

I'll see what I can make these look like.


I'm definitely down with redrawing them if you'd like to do one here and there, that'd be amazing just to see! The portraits I've got for the characters and NPCs are currently done within the engine so I'm definitely up for a far more custom look to the game. =)

It's a playstation controller hooked up to PC using an adapter.

I've been playing with the keyboard (which is awkward, these games really are made to be played with a controller) and been having fun so far. Just finished Mount Ordeals.

If you know of a way to get my gamepad working (it's not an xinput gamepad) then that would be useful, but the game is still playable with keyboard if not.


Yeah that's definitely not compatible with the gamepad script I'm using, so my apologies on that. The only thing I can think of that might make your controller work with the game is JoytoKey (which is a free download). I'm glad you're having fun with the game! Ordeals is one of my favorite areas. I hope you enjoy the rest of it! =)

I downloaded this and went to play, but for some reason my gamepad won't work? It works fine on other RPGMaker Ace XV games, but for this one only the keyboard is working. Any ideas?

Hmm it could be that your controller isn't compatible with the gamepad script that I'm using. The gamepad script allows for Xinput controllers (Xbox 360 for instance) to be used and for the directional pad to be used instead of the analog stick (among other things). What kind of controller are you using? I just tried the game with my Xbox 360 controller and it's working for me no problem.

550 events? Where'd you get that number? I can't imagine it being that high.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit high myself, so I took a peek under the hood to find out. The Overworld Map (first map at the top) has a total of 558 events.



For a game this complex and massive, that doesn't surprise me, but that would explain why some folks are having lag issues. The anti-lag script will work quite well I would imagine, but other than that, I wouldn't know how to go about solving it.
