At the same time, I anticipate this topic to branch into a discussion on standards. That is welcome here.

It comes down to what we think the standards should be. It's a tough question and there's no way everyone will agree on the same thing.

It's good to let kids post their first games, some of them will get feedback and actually learn something. It's also likely that all the feedback in the world won't change the fact that they are immature 13 yr olds. To actually make a difference and teach a newb about design would take huge amounts of effort, not just a few comments on putting more trees on that forest map. You either get it or you don't. The best way is for them to play games and learn what good design is by seeing good design and trying to emulate it.

I don't know much about the server side of things, but I'm sure space and bandwidth are not endless so it's good to have at least some kind of bar of measurement. we have to draw the line somewhere. At the end of the day this is a hosting site, not a school for the graphically challenged.

There are other hosting sites so it's not the end of world if we turn a few people away
