Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Villain RPG Review

author=Trozz
Thanks for the great review! This game was kind of forgotten and locked away for about 13 years until I busted it out and wrapped it up. Glad you're liking it so far! This review inspired me to create a map that shows where you might be able to recruit other party members. If you're in to this kind of spoiler, take a look: World map with character recruitment markers

Cool, I will check that later since I got some allies but not them all of course!
This is a fun game, I admit I expected less in term of length and freedom, instead the content is noteworthy and there is also a lot of variety. Many games may be big and repetitive, not this one. Also...the unexpected humor!
Well done

The Cerberus

I admit I hated that boss in the old Vanity...
Wait a sec, who is Jason??? O.o

I'll Defeat the Monster From the Comfort of My Bed! Power Nap Edition EX

uuuuhm for some reason the protagonist becomes invisible right after the intro sequence! o.O weird never happened to me before!

The Alley Review

Thanks so much for the feedback and review! I really enjoyed making this. Definitely agree that it could've been longer. I actually never meant to make this game—it came about when I was taking a break from my main project and decided to learn some Blender. I've got some ideas of how I'd turn this into a fuller length adventure, so once I've finished my main project I may just return to this :)

Thanks again!

Yeah, only thing that may need improving is combat... or even remove it entirely, leaving only the boss encounter, I mean the VR part was the only part I did not like as the rest, but yeah it may be a personal preference. For the rest is all pretty good and really stylish too.

Vagabond Review

author=Ramshackin
Hey RpgmakerAddict, thanks for the review!

Did you try out trading goods between towns? It introduces some random battles with bandits that give a good chunk of EXP.

I did that. 1st time he killed me, then the other times did not appear at all. Does this happens only walking on the road???
Also the people in front of the mines claim they will rescue you but... nope you die anyway.

author=TheRpgmakerAddict
it uses RTPs only

author=Ramshackin
Want to call out Vagabond uses the Inquisitor's tileset, instead of RTP tiles. Got to give credit where it's due!

Ops my mistake I will correct that... it's that i have already seen countless times...probably every XP game I reviewed used them!

Welcome your new Queue Keeper!

A wild Frogge appears!!
Congrats!

Klaustastrophe

Finished! Hehe that cowboy was the hardest opponent, more difficult to beat than the final boss. Nice game anyway!

About the "Dream Essence", I agree we didn't really put any indication as to where players are supposed to get it but if you have unlocked the Nightmare Vessel intel (by encountering one at night or paying the Innkeeper) then it would say that that enemy type drops Dream Essence.
Uhm yes, I just do not understand if I just needed to kill him OR I had to use also the dreamtcatcher in combat... that did not seem to do anything apparently. I admit I didn't want to spend money to the innkeeper... also to avoid spoilers!
Actually, many people might think similar to you. If we release an update with fixes I'll keep in mind to add something to indicate how to get the Dream Essence. A hint is probably better than nothing.
Maybe... the question is... is there a time limit?
Or you just get a bonus for ending defeating the boss in less days?
There are no alternate endings unfortunately. Pulling off multiple endings like how Errevale Fall was (as simple as the varieties were) would have been too difficult considering the short amount of time we developed BWGM (we were rushing to get the Year of the Deer badge). From that previous game it just seems to be a bit complicated to do in RPG Maker.

You can however get an achievement for beating the final boss only after reaching a certain day (the hint is that it's a Christmas themed game). Aside from that, there are some post-game shenanigans if you beat the final boss again a second time, after talking to a suspicious barrel that pops up when you beat the game the first time. Considering you played some of our other games you might like it :)

Oh yes! So it's not a problem dragging on! I know that there was supposed to be just one ending, my fear was "waste too many days and it's instant Game Over", like a sort of "You failed, everyone dies, thank you for trying" ... lol!

I mean this is the reason why I rushed reaching the boss fight unprepared, but it's only other developers' fault... like Calunio that in Alvorada do Mal created a very similar situation (heroes in a small village threatened by a witch), but where the Witch kills one peasant each day.
Luckily in this game this doesn't happen!

Hello,
Boutalles and Forlorn Manor can be found on Wayback Machine : https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/22883/?post=926477#post926477.
You can find OFF on the french website Oniromancie.

I reviewed Boutalles last year, I forgot to write that you can still get it from Itch.io from the dev's site, so no need of using Waybackmachine: https://latenightstudio.itch.io/boutalles

Forlorn Manor is instead still available here on https://rpgmaker.pl/

We'll look into the minor issues you mentioned like the last boss. We're always trying to improve our game developing skills so even the small details mean a lot!
Well it seems that the hitpoints decrease to zero and then... they grow back again (I was able to act at 0 hitpoints... happened that too!)
Darn, this bug should've been fixed already. We probably missed something then.

Well from what I experienced this only happens with the final boss.
