1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana
*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

That's right up my alley!
I love it ¬‿¬
Ohh, page just went live. Download's up now!
Very cool little game, only one problem: if you re-enter the Virtual Reality room after beating the final boss the previous scene replays with copies of the npcs.

I'm an rmn newb, and I never saw this review until now. So, sorry for the super late reply.
But thank you so much for the kind review! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. In retrospect I would probably would have done something different with the leveling system (perhaps just have the party level up normally, instead of doing the stat buy with corn system).
Anyway, lots to improve upon for future games. Thanks again for the feedback!
Heya! Was a fun little dungeon romp that I played it from the beginning to the end so... not bad at all, there were many neat ideas there!

Thank you for the review once again! The similarities between BWGM and Errevale Fall are mostly because I wanted us to improve on the kind of game Errevale Fall was. When writing for this one I was thinking of making a buddy cop type of story but apparently it ended up having a same-ish structure to Errevale Fall lol.
But BETTER! Yeah! And I liked that in the past and I liked it now. Well it's clearly a different game, even if still of the category:"monster hunters stranded on a remote village hunt a big bad".

You mentioned that the confusing stuff was mostly at the start. We did design the game to be harder at the start, then get harder again at the very end, so I'm glad that was the experience you got in the end.
Well that's normal for many other games where there are characters whose abilities need to be mastered to use effective combos and strategies (I can for example say that Rise of the Third Power had the same "problem" for me since you need to learn which characters' abilities work better together). Anyway I just needed to grind a bit and won last combat. Strangely the boss before the final boss was the one who gave me less problems!

About the "Dream Essence", I agree we didn't really put any indication as to where players are supposed to get it but if you have unlocked the Nightmare Vessel intel (by encountering one at night or paying the Innkeeper) then it would say that that enemy type drops Dream Essence.
Uhm yes, I just do not understand if I just needed to kill him OR I had to use also the dreamtcatcher in combat... that did not seem to do anything apparently. I admit I didn't want to spend money to the innkeeper... also to avoid spoilers!

We also hid a lot of stuff in the game (which is why we have the achievements) and that includes a shop for ammunition, which is only unlocked if you do three rabbit side-quests from the Huntsman, then three animal hide side-quests in a row without failing them.
I know, I know and I found *some*. BUT I was worried that the game had a time limit so I tried and finished it before day 10. Uhm I'll look for them later, I admit I did the mistake of NOT talking to the Huntsman each day (I believed it was necessary to do that only once), despite having a ton of skins and morsels... so I failed doing them in a row! Lol

We'll look into the minor issues you mentioned like the last boss. We're always trying to improve our game developing skills so even the small details mean a lot!
Well it seems that the hitpoints decrease to zero and then... they grow back again (I was able to act at 0 hitpoints... happened that too!)

Bad Game actually ended up more punny than bad per say. (Also that game was a swap game, so the second half was finished by someone else. It certainly has a very interesting ending.)
Yes, that made me curious. Also that game has no review... yet!

Tears of Revenge might be the only decent RPG game you haven't reviewed. I still like Othello more though.
Cool, I may check that sooner or later!

Thanks. I never expected another review after such a long time. Probably my best RPG game actually. If you play my older ones, you'll probably find them pretty terrible.
Well I did play and review Aelwyn's Journey and wasn't bad, anyway this was far better! (even if the resource pack used for Aelwyn's Journey was nice and really under-used). Uhm I may try A Bad Game, just for the name then! :P
Burn Witches Get Money
Finally finished! Last combat has so harddd (until I arrived well prepared)... anyway I liked a lot the ending, I admit I expected e different twist. Really wish there will be a sequel, that duo was awesome (I especially liked Bob, even if he was more a support to John).
Potty Quest
I'm gonna play it! I remember I already saw it somewhere (discord? Itch.io?) ... now I can play and review it! Cool

Thank you for playing and reviewing the game. Sorry for the late answers, I'm not really active on this site anymore.
Do not worry! Nice original games anyway, they have a peculiar look and style!

Hi there, thank you so much for giving a thorough review!
I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it, despite some of the flaws. They're mostly down to me, as the in-engine person of our team, though also the last in the chain, so to speak, so I was bumping against a game jam deadline when I did a lot of the setting up.
Might have to jump back into the project and fix a few of the minor mess-ups with NPCs wandering into walls!
I do also agree the puzzles were a little simplistic, mostly as they were worked out in all of an afternoon, definitely something to be given more time and thought in future!
The objects using the same tile objects was also a very good point, and something to look at dealing with in other projects, so thanks for the heads-up.
The music was actually composed by one of our team (Forsaken_Waffle) specifically for the jam, which would explain why it was unfamiliar. The regular sounds are regular bundled assets for the sake of time, but the music is all his.
Thank you for playing and letting us know what you thought of it! We all worked hard to get it done in the timeframe, and despite the bugs scattered about I'm glad there's some merit to it. Cheers! :)
Yeah, I had fun and I think that visually is really excellent, I loved the graphic style. Considering this was made in a limited time it's really impressive, pity for the little errors that sometimes made npcs unreachable (and that puzzle that may make impossibile to earn the best ending), anyway it's nothing game breaking, was pretty good and I had fun!
Yes I recognized the sounds, anyway I liked the nusic too. Nice, hope to see and play some other games then!
