Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

Hey happy you like that! You did a great job with this game and I do not care if it's not complete since there's much to play!

This definitely would have been addressed in the long-term story. Maybe one day I'll finish this!

Really? I believed it was going to be left obscure, so I'd not mind at all in any case.

Ah, thank you for making this observation! This was definitely intentional, and inspired by the Metroidvania genre, where in games like Metroid Fusion, I noticed that once you gained a new power, you would be trapped within that room until you figured out how to escape it. This way, I would force the player to learn the new mechanic before they continued!

Yes! I expected that, was a clever idea because this doesn't throw you everything in your face from the beginning but lets you see and experience new things gradually as you progress. And I think that this keeps the player interested and entertained much more.

Thanks for the review, and I have good news for you. My current project is a sequuel to this, starring Ester and Caede and adding more story, mercs and dungeon, as well as using custom graphics. I also will be fleshing out all the mercs as the ones I plan to include are going to tie into other projects of mine.

Cool! These are great news since I liked this one, I do not mind the lack of custom graphics (normally I think that edits are ok, or even reusing sprites from old games eheh), for the rest that sounds really even better this one! Now you've my attention!

MANOS: The Hands of Fate Review

Thanks for the review! I have a confession to make... I never actually watched this movie lol at most, like, maybe the first 10 minutes.

Ahaha it's hilariously bad, but what I liked about the end was that:

in the movie Torgo escapes from the Master after this one makes his hand explode (don't remember why!), Michael takes Margaret and daughter and finds the Master, then shoots him six times to kill him and escape. BUT things are strange, we see the family in front of an open door, then the Master in front of the same door (like same place in two different moments), then Michael that shoots at the door in front of him, then the Master that grins.
The day after Michael replaces Torgo as the owner of the motel and the Master takes both Margaret and her daughter as wives/maidens! The Master apparently now controls their minds, so... he won!

I mean that shocked me at the time.
The game... not so much anyway was a good entry for a contest!

I may be a bit late, but I wanted to let you know that some of the improvements I've made for the version 1.8 were made keeping your feedback in mind.

So thank you for taking your time into reviewing the game.

Aremen's Moon Patrol Review

To be honest, I was just mostly happy to see the shooting mechanic that I made way back in Okiku, Star Apprentice still work within the context of MZ, albeit with a bit additional fiddling. Having funny little interactions triggered by the shooting mechanic that Okiku had might make this game more lively, but, the game's inspirational concept directed more toward the arcade-like action.

*Edit: For what it's worth, I had considered developing this as a side-scrolling shoot-em-up in a similar vein as the game it's inspired from. However, thinking about how to handle jumping, and how, exactly, to implement side-scrolling, the idea was dropped.

The shooting system is cool and tt's interesting seeing how many event games used original systems (this one, but for example Brigida too, that was developed during the same event if I am correct) and turned to be rather enjoyable, fun and creative. I hope to see a remake (or "non-event version" to be clear) maybe someday with some additional features, because the base is solid and fun.
