Final Fantasy Mafia
Some analysis.
This game was pretty much textbook 101 Why Playing Passively As A Town Is A BAD IDEA. Early on the town was doing great with several discussion leaders and scumchat basically imploding on itself and villains being way, way too transparent in their relations in the topic.
Then Liberty and geodude get killed by mafia as the most profilic posters and the tone of the game shifts dramatically.
The town has all the information neatly laid out and a million cases to make but no one makes them! Thus, no lynches and easily getting lead around by the mafia. I had both the Spirit Medium and the second Crystal Bearer express immense frustration to me over the town not picking up on information given by CONFIRMED, DEAD TOWN POWER ROLES. So yeah, I have to agree. Town died on its own passiveness. Nothing happens unless YOU are an active player. Fear of getting killed shouldn't matter when you get killed anyway if you don't do anything. Reactive posting just means everyone sits around and oh look no lynch.
Suicides didn't help of course.
Town MVP awards go to Liberty and geodude for being excellent discussion firestarters and quite good detectives.
Scum MVP award goes to Mr. Chuff, or should I say Mr. "Deputy"? Heh heh.
Uncalled for :( award goes to otokonoko for trying to pass the Irvine role as legit. I would never stoop THAT low. Then again I made the "No competent mod would have a perfectly flavor-matching SK" argument during IG mafia so turnabout is fair play!
Mod Flips You The Double Bird award goes to Asalieri for his dumb rule-breaking post-mortem posting. What the hell man.
Overall I had fun hosting the game and I hope you enjoyed it. The setup was crafted with great care and I hope it showed!

Relyt/otokonoko - Exdeath, Rolecop

Can't use ability if going on a nightkill. Very powerful for sniffing out roles, found most of the town power roles, which made setting up kill targets and making fakeclaims in the topic that much easier.

Can't use ability if going on a nightkill. Prevents the target from speaking next day, they can only vote and unvote. Never got into use thanks to a hilarious in-mafia bitchfest on day 1 resulting in Zim being sacrificed despite like none of the townies seriously suspecting him.

Is given a list of bulletpoints based on each night's important events, can write anything in the daybreak flavor as long as it includes that. Must survive to endgame to win. My personal favorite role, that got its intent misunderstood. It's basically a Survivor with infinite potential to set up anonymous red herrings. Watching the topic and scumchat squirm early on trying to figure out the meanings of the flavor (that was never grounded in factual reality) was great. The Natook claimed it(!?) and it got accused of being a role to give me a lazy out of flavor writing. :(. Natook left on a trip without internet access midgame, so we never got to see if both sides would have been benevolent enough to let him survive to endgame.

Okay, everyone wanted to know how this works. ESPECIALLY scumchat which were just about ready to assault me with pitchforks over the mystery. (Their role PMs told them that possession of a crystal would be useful)
Crystal Bearer is a cop with a fancy elaborate name, first off. The CB player is told they're a cop and not much else. There's more than that to it though.
The actual mechanics:
When Crystal Bearer dies, if Kain(Austra) is dead, the crystal shatters. If he's alive, though? Things get interesting.
If CB is lynched, the crystal fills with evil energies and is passed to the villains. When villains gain hold on the crystal, they use mindcontrol and KAIN TURNS TRAITOR and becomes VILLAIN Traitor, with no special powers. The crystal then shatters.
If CB dies at night and Quina does not inherit them, they get to choose who to send the crystal to. If a Hero, they inherit the role; if a Villain, Kain turns Traitor and the crystal shatters.
Was passed from Liberty to Font, then shattered thanks to Austra being dead when Font died.
