Stronger Version of Skills; is it necessary?

It is a difficult issue. Usually, single/multiple targets are also upgrades for the spells (not only power itself) or side effects.

It also depends on the strategy of the battle. Chrono Trigger is a good example of that. Say, there were enemies that only reacted to certain magic so even having the big-destroy-all magic, you had to use the "weak" single target. Just to give an example. Chrono Cross, and the stamina issue; FFVIII and the junction powers. It's more about strategy than anything else.

In RM it may not be easy to make an intelliget system, like Zachary_Braun said

You could even have the magic in question act as a class of magic, and the final spell is determined by the game just before casting the spell.

I've been facing that issue, trying to make spell upgrade (in my current project) has some kind of sense, even using only normal-not-programming tools. I suppose it is part of the challenges in game making if you want to break the pot.

Breaking the Fourth Wall

Hi ShineDiamond and everybody!

Maybe you can implement a "voting system". So that some actions in the game give "votes" for the protagonists, and thus things may happen or may not... Help would come or would not (like Hunger Games, maybe).

So, let's say that can also add some kind of hilarious moments like: "Ohh sorry, I can't give you the Master Ball right now. Your dropped this weekend rating", "You feel somehow observed... like if people were making fun of you" Or whatever.

You may also do what JosephSeraph says:

I suppose you could add an actual cutscene inside a TV or something, this would look pretty cool

So maybe you can control Ash AND the audience (or the manager of the program... like trying to make the show better may decide Ash's fate?)

At the end, it's your decision. There are many ways as you can imagine!! :)

No trouble and no offense at all ;). You choose what you want, need and feel comftable with. I'll be waiting for your game and hope you find what you are looking for!

Need a large set of Facesets in Anime style art. [Closed]

Hi Unity!

I think this would be an interesting challenge. What do you mean exactly by "cute-anime style". How profesional do you want your images to be?

I'll just share one of my drawings here, so may be you can see if its okay or may be you want something different or something more Pro or whatever.

Which time and price requirement do you have? If you get interested in my style, then we can talk and arrange something.

Have a nice day ;)

Menu Savepoint or Fixed Savepoints?

Wouldn't be great an automatic saving fixed no-return game, so that you can't come back and any decision you make is really important, like you can't return to see what would have happened if you hadn't got in time or something like that. I would anger the player (I would be angry, for example) but giving challenge to the game.

Developer Team for new game

Wow Marrend, thank you very much. Absolutely forgot that and it is a really important question.

I'm most capable in the following:
- Storytelling, plot buliding and plot coherency (I've wrote some books so far, you can see here http://procredes.blogspot.com/ )
- System building, like how a magic system would work to be balanced and not overrating some X or Y element. I like fair stuff.
- Programing: I've got difficulties learning Ruby, but I know how programation works (C++, Matlab, VBA) so I'll be ready to learn, to understand, and try to find a solution when programming problems arise.
- Graphic design: I don't like rips. My work may not be the finest, and I get some things better done than others, but its homemade. Some examples are here (and also in the blog).

I also have weaknesses:
- No Ruby knowledge.
- Poor original music finding/composing/editing skills.
- No tons of time.
- Not a perfect native-like english.

I would like to apologize if the first message sound like "you-do-it-I-watch" invitation. That's not the idea but to work together.

Here the examples (comments about them are welcome too):
Some Battle Charsets or Battle animations (can be both)

Developer Team for new game

Hi RMN community!

I'm new here, but I've been into RPGMaker since 2002. I would like to develop some ideas, but in the real life excelent games usually need a developer team.

Maybe you think it's possible to do a team. Maybe you excel at a specific ability (like music composing or graphic design). If so, why don't you give it a shoot?

I also admit that I'm stuck with 2003 (because of side battles and low Ruby skills to date) but I know new engines are awesome and help about this would be appreciated!

If you like this reply so that we can develop something together.
Just wanting to develop something awesome, Treason89
