The Campaign

Hi there! As you asked me for your game I though it would be better to give my oppinion here.

I didn't found any tutorial info outside the game. After you told me I searched for them and realized the files where somewhere else... my dumbness here.

I found the archer really usefull, she was strong and had usefull front and back row abilities. It wasn't that clear how to use the arrows, as I could go both fights without using "Quiver" command, missing the opportunity to try those alchemical arrows. Rushan was also a very good character. Akkina was like a defender or so, I learned how to use her in the second battle. Pius was ok in the front row, but I found him useless in the back row. About Beorn... I can't say he was useless, but I managed to go without using him for anything. His medic abilities were not as usefull as I expected. Probably more tough situations or so would have made him shine. I skipped his turns most of the time and found myself using him only in very specific situations.

About the damage inflicted to the enemies, I was clueless about what status I had inflicted to the enemies. I could see their HP going down, but I didn't know if they had 1 or more injuries, if they were stunned or so.

Overall again, I liked it very much!

Fundamental RPGology Thread

Ok! I just managed to play a few more entries!

Just my oppinions here about the systems.

Mace Blue Arena, was a very psyco-retro trip. One battle would have been enough to show the system. The need to charge before attacking was an interesting feature.

Queen of the ring was nice. It looked like it was somehow still under development. I couldn't tell how to disable a slime arms and head since they have none... The concept was very good but I couldn't manage to see most of it in action.

The Campaing was a very different entry. I found it intuitive and a very different concept about unique abilities in front and back row. Even having some unbalanced characters (like some very usefull and some very useless) I enjoyed a lot this entry. I couldn't tell exactly the consequences of my attacks, but as it's still under development it's fine. I'm looking forward the complete entry very soon!

Fundamental RPGology Thread

That's a good question NeverSilent! I think my entry was heavy influenced about the damage over time idea. RPG use mostly constant damage over time, but it doesn't have to be that way always.

I rarely use items or so and I'm a very lazy healer, so I didn't mind about that, except for that idea of "healing is just going to a starting point". In one of my battles (the only one you can heal) I tried to make a way to heal that would, in turn, be able to heal the enemy or change completely the state of affairs in the battle field (as for attack usually convex lens is needed, but for healing the concave reflective polarized lens is needed, quite the opposite).

I'm also Ok with no MP (a current project I have don't use it) so nothing to mid about either.

Finally something I also had in mind was trying to do a system (I don't know if I succeeded as much as I wanted). Not puzzle like stuff that may not be applicable elsewhere but new ways to interact that can be used with any enemy from a Slime to the Evil Lord-whatever-final boss itself.

Fundamental RPGology Thread

Hi! Well it seems that the topic is going forward even after the contest! That's cool.

I could play Delusions of Duty, and as I said Aegix, I liked it. Very intuitive, yes! I just don't know how would be possible a system as that to always work... like random battles may not be possible unless the developer think 400 strategies ahead? Putting that aside, an excelent entry.

I've also played Marrend's entry. I gave a glance on it but I couldn't guess the patterns of the fighters. Even so I could get Marrend's idea, so I thought it was enough. Easy and simple. A very good entry.

I also started Karin's Battle system... but I had to work so I haven't got as far as the second battle.

Three Treason Theories and Queen of the Ring were completely indeciphrable for me.
Excuse me Shinan... Which entry is Queen of the Ring? I can't see it.

I haven't gone for the others, but I'll do soon. About mine? Yeah, 0 intuitiveness there. After some advice I was thinking about doing a tutorial or something like that... but that was outside of my time. My bad. Just feedback if you feel so, I can go better after the contest!

And the good thing is that this gets more exciting now!

Three Treason Theories

Nope, I think nobody minds about double posting here, so no problem.

I really appreciate your comments! Here are some answers about them:

1. Yeah, you are right. If the enemy always remains the same it's a pretty dull system. But if, say for example, you have to break an enemy's armor, then drain a lot of its HP and after that put it to sleep as it goes in HARDCORE KILLER MODE, so that you have to soflty harm it to death (That sounds... ok, whatever) then different DOT may be useful.

2. Thank you!

3. Oh men, I want to cry jeje. I've not been able to clearly specify what to do in this battle. Basically you are supposed to shoot light, bending it with the lenses. So different lenses can hit or heal the players or the enemies. The idea is to eliminate both enemies by reflecting their light, or using Chryst light to do so. Any suggestions here?

4. Harder and without help versions of the battles before. You can go, for example, straight forward with Almadana, but if you don't use strategic affinity raising in the boss rush you won't be able to make it.

Thank you again for the willingness to help!

Sorry I missed your reply! Didn't see it come up in my Notices...

Did you follow all the steps in this tutorial?

Wooo!!! I hadn't read that! I knew most of it but two important points I didn't knew about them. I will upload it with the changes of that tutorial so that my game can be used for all!

Thank you very much again Yellow Magic!

Edit: I have some other PCs that are non-RM related, so I'll try installing on them, and then when I find it works, I'll upload the new version. Thanks for the patience!

Edit2: It's me again. I'll just upload the folder with everything on it. I gave it a shoot in my parents PC from a USB drive and worked perfectly. Even so, please tell me if the problem persists or if it finally worked.

Edit3: I just updated everything again, finally in a functional way according to the test I run in my parent's PC. Did it worked for you?

I tried to run this, but it doesn't seem to work without the RTP...

Does it tell you there are missing files? I uploaded this with the RTP inside the folders so that it could run on it's own, and others haven't reported problems... Do you know a way to solve this?

Please let me know so that I can upload a functional game. Thanks!

Edit: I just made an installation in my PC. I uninstalled the Rm2k3 then installed and tried to run the game. First time I tried to run it didn't worked (it hadn't recognized the RTP); but second time it worked perfectly. Maybe that also works for you?

- occasionally at a total loss on how to use them (strategically or at all, though in the latter case I suspect a few implementation bugs :P)

Somehow I felt into that group (probably because I recieved a similar comment from the friendly Marrend) so I made a new version (v1.3) for my entry. I just added a few lines in Chryst&Pry and Almadana EASY battles, to clarify the system behind the battles.

That may probably mean "giving away" the system (as Aegix said) but probably be useful to develop a proper strategy.

Link again here for the game, just in case you missed it: 3xT - Three Treason Theories

The deadline is just 7 days ahead! What will happen next? :3

Game Update 3:
A new version (v1.3) is now available. I just added a few lines in Chryst&Pry and Almadana EASY battles, to clarify the system behind the battles. Enjoy!

Yeah Addit, Kieron-slime-kun is right. Are you going to agroup Tier B just for low level hunting? I should go for Tier A instead. More rewards, experience and rare drops ahead (well, we could invite Cash for MORE rare drops)!
