Let's Play - Master of the Wind Episode 6 - Idle Minds

Well, rather than go into the nitty gritty of the design here, I'll PM you the master design document with some info on what elements still need work in the early stages. I'll edit it and hopefully get it out in like the next day or two.

Come to the think of it, I may have an issue on my hands that could involve eventing as a solution, but I need to mess around more with what what's already here before I know for sure.

What also might be helpful is the fact that you seem to have stayed in the midst of the RM community for the last few years while I was semi-retired. If you know of any sites that have graphical resources (sprites/faces/battlers, etc) for VX Ace, that could help a great deal with these early stages.

Don't worry, I won't be afraid to ask for help! My skill set is so one-sided I typically don't have much of a choice.

I think the Mole folk are so well-hidden and seemingly uncivilized that Gallia never gave them a second thought. There are advantages to be considered a wild animal.

I may show the first few scenes of Legacy once they're ready, so that would include a tutorial battle, a major early story scene and possibly more. ArtBane's the only one who's seen any of it in action so it'd be a big deal.

I appreciate your offer for help. What do you consider your specialty? Most of my needs will likely be graphical in nature, maybe the occasional script issue although I got many of them done years ago thanks to Fomar.

Let's Play - Master of the Wind Episode 5 - For The Last Time...

Pff, pigfolk. I ain't go no respect for something without the sense to disregard its own feces!

I turned the A/C off, who knows what that noise is...I think the mic I used for those last two is just too crappy. When I'm alone I use a headset with a mic but of course that's not appropriate for two narrators.

In a broad sense, I agree with Cade about most things. But a large part of his character development is learning to be an advocate and not just alienate people right away by being so aggressive. To get to that point, he has to start where he does. If he was already able to make a good case for his views that reached people easily, there's no character arc.

Alex stuck around for the episode after this one. I'll have to be more careful about the audio mixing. It tends to sound louder in Camtasia than when it's actually on YouTube.

The Clean Slate episodes had audio/video desynching pretty often and I was usually able to correct before posting. So far, the MotW eps hadn't been doing this but I suppose now I need to pay more attention.

Let's Play - Master of the Wind Episode 3 - Battle Ethics

I know, I know. Nobody does. I don't mind that in and of itself, but it can grate on me when I mention something about it and someone inevitably goes "Oh, I don't care about the Oscars." It's like congrats, you're better than me. If I said that about sports everytime someone mentioned them, I'd have been shot in the street by now (that's not hyperbole, this is America after all). For the record, I find them interesting and enjoy trying to predict the results but more often than not, I don't endorse the results. Most of the time, they suck. But like I said there, a movie buff who follows them is in the best position to articulate why they're so inept sometimes.

Undertale's not perfect, it's twee/tumblr sensibility gets old sometimes but the meat of its deconstructive themes was profound, for reasons explained in the video of course.

That should play the video right away. It was pretty easy to manage so let me know if Germany gets up in your grill again.

Weird, I wonder what song did it. Well, if you can see it in a different country, cool. If not, I may be able to dropbox you the actual video file.

MotW: In-Depth Playthrough

Nice, that's a fun section you got through. It's a lot of non-playable stuff but after Arc III it usually comes off as pretty efficient.

-When Auburn first met Cade, I think she just thought he'd be fun to have a drink with during her downtime. Like she says at one point, "it's rare that Mr. Kovak is in any real danger" (or something to that effect). But she really grew to love Port Arianna which she in turn associates heavily with Cade. It's probably not until Boreal that she starts to appreciate who he actually is as a person.
-Laurel's been trained in sifting through people's minds, which I suppose is fairly similar to psychology. Regarding your later comment, she actually doesn't figure out the Sparrow thing until the dungeon you're about to enter. You may be able to catch the exact moment she puts it together.
-The direction of the scene you're referring to is weird to look at...I believe that scene and the fight on the roof take place on the same map which would explain it. By the way, it is the same building, just the camera has moved over.
-I think that the stuff with Andau's sister plays better if that flashback I made of Andau's origins has been seen. I don't think it's in that version, unfortunately.
-I had a lot of fun writing the fight sequence with Kovak and Vec. We knew that the real threat was going to shift towards the Hand and Ariel, so that fight had to happen before it became less relevant. I think I had a few more combo-attacks in mind for them but we were having a tough time getting them to work.
-There's got to be a scent for bones. Dogs can always find them after all. Stoic should be glad Bubba didn't buy one of his femurs in the dirt for later.

Let's Play Master of the Wind!

That's what I get for trying to keep a weekly deadline. No real problems, just busy. I may be able to pull it off today,if not then hopefully soon.
