WHEELMANZERO'S PROFILE

Just a guy who loves rpg's. Thanks to some serious encouragement from several new friends and the community at large, I was able to complete one of my own. Game making is my favorite hobby, so you can expect more games on the way. Play on fellow gamers, play on!

Update: Umbral Soul Reverse

Rude? Pfft, not even close. That's a fair question and I'd be happy to answer it.

*ahem*

You can rest assured that the sequel is still being made. For the time being I've been focusing on upgrading this game while adding additional content. I've been creating some scenes for the sequel, but once Umbral Soul's ultimate edition is finished, I'll be free to dedicate a lot more time to it. The skeleton is already there though; I've accumulated the necessary tilesets, battlers, animations and music while already having planned out every detail of the story. All that's left to do is put it together, which sounds simple, but eats up time like nobody's business. I'm not sure how I'd translate that into a completion percentage though.

For what its worth though, Luminous Soul is going to be a million times easier to event than Umbral Soul because I don't have to deal with shuffling around 20 different party members with 7 custom attacks each. That alone is enough to make its development go a lot faster than Umbral's.

Hey there! First off, I would like to say I really LOVE your game! The pacing, the plot, the character development are absolutely fantastic, and I like that we are playing from the perspective of villains, which is quite interesting! I've been playing a lot of rpg maker games recently and I was growing quite bored until I played yours! Great job :))

Alright, truth be told, I created this account not just to praise your game on how exemplary it is, but also to report a bug as well that happens near the end of the game. I was so close to completing the game but I couldn't find ways to get rid of the bug :(

So in the part where you are in the battle capital, you are supposed to go both east and west to get rid of the sisters that have placed a light barrier over the entrance to the castle. But its the west part I am having problems with, when I reached the top of the tower and enter, the screen just remained black for a long time! I'm sure there was supposed to be a cutscene playing but it didnt play at all. And the only thing you could do was bring up the menu, and use the Abyssal Portal. That seem to trigger another bug-even though Damien is not in my party, I could see him on the menu screen in my party. It's like it stuck there and I can't get rid of it. and yeah that's all the bugs I could find in the game, I hope you have a solution to this because I really want to complete the game :(

Wheel Inc. tech support has arrived! I'll shoot you a message with some questions, but I have a feeling I already know what the problem is.

Wow, so this was your first rpg maker game? I'm glad I was able to leave a good first impression then. It's incredible what you can do with the engine with a little know-how and some imagination. Thanks for the comment, and welcome to the wonderous world of rpg maker games.

My only criticism is that it looks too good. Start over from the beginning! *twirls mustache*

Rave Heart is completed! (Excited for release soon!)

Congratulations! That's gotta be a good feeling. Thanks for all your hard work.

If you've got all the scenarios, you've pretty much gotten all the story content. Like dd33 said, a lot of story arcs were left unfinished so that they could be resolved in the sequel, which is in the works. The improved version of this game, which I'm working on right now, will have a considerable amount of additional story as well as a walkthrough, so there'll be no need to worry about missing anything. Thanks for playing!

Things are going quite well, thanks. I've received a lot of great resources from a friend of mine, so I've been excited to show them off. Completing the quest line given to you by the black-haired woman in Arcfall unlocks the last 2 scenarios. Talking to her after you've done so will unlock another one.

Worry not my friend, for tech support has arrived. If the original download is giving you trouble, click the "downloads" tab at the top of this page and click the third link. That version includes RPG Maker VX Ace's rtp, which is required for the game to work.

Once it finishes downloading, click the file, which should appear as a blue hexagon, and the game will be extracted to a new folder. Enter that folder and click the red dragon head, and you're off to the races. Let me know if you have any trouble.

EDIT: I went ahead and made the rtp inclusive download the main download so no one else runs into the same problem, assuming that was the problem. The non-rtp version is still available on the download page.

Now that's what I call...brain freeze! Bwahaha! I'm not sorry.

Whoa, thanks bud! Yeah I made this game on my own, but I did get a lot of helpful suggestions on how to improve it, like yours for instance. You'd be surprised what you can do with some time, patience, and motivation. Of course my soloing this project did result in a bunch of issues I missed leaking through. Well never again I say. Next time I'm having playtesters. Playtesters out the wazoo!

I'm glad Serene and Pandora's conversations had the impact on you that they did. The way you felt about them was exactly what I was aiming for. Don't worry though, the story's not over, so I don't plan on leaving you hanging.

Ah yes, the glitches; the bane of my existence. So baneful in fact, that I decided a while ago that I would no longer tolerate their presence. Every last bug will meet its end at the tip of my mouse. That's why I'm releasing a revamped version of this game with all the glitches and spelling errors fixed, along with a bunch of new content. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking away from it otherwise.

Spoiler because spoi- Bah, you know the drill!

I had thought about Pandora's not taking the shard with her being dumb before, but the way I have things planned it actually needs to happen that way. Villains make incredibly stupid mistakes that lead to their inevitable downfall on a near constant basis, so I figured I'd chalk it up to an error in judgement. If villains were smart, they might actually be dangerous!

I'm glad you thought Athena's explanation for escaping was incomplete, because the truth is, it IS incomplete. The details of how she and the villagers lasted that log in the miasma, as well as exactly how she made her escape are revealed in the sequel. I left a bunch of cliffhangers and half-finished stories in the game so they could be wrapped up in the sequel. I hope you'll join me for it.

And I think that just about does it. Thanks for the comment 4normaly, you just brightened up my day.
