That looks like the font to happy days and not an RPG.

The only RPGs where you actually bring your fallen allies to a HOSPITAL that I've played are EarthBound and Tecmo's Secret of the Stars (although in TSotS you went there to get rid of illnesses that don't go away with normal sleep).

(Changing Title Pending) NovaForce

Well technically it's "A Role Playing Game", but the English a/an system is based off of phonetic differences and therefore, saying the letter R begins the sound with a vowel.

And that's the old prototype stuff, and there's very few RTP I used even then. After I decided to do an engine, I decided to draw the stuff myself and/or have someone else draw things with me- might as well.

The sound works!

The JVM is improved, but native code is always going to win. I mean, it has to be interpreted from byte code to native code somehow. With compiled regular code, there is no interpretation. Plus I get to have more control over everything. The JAVA fanboys love to get upset when you call Java interpreted (which it is), but it's closer to a sort of emulator than anything else.

And. I'm not really using an IDE, I just write the code and run make.

The sound works!

I do JAVA too, but when you need performance, C usually runs orders of magnitude faster to do the same tasks using the same algorithms on the lab environment I made last summer. Unfortunately, Swing is an absolute nightmare. I'm thinking of seeing if the WINAPI is also a nightmare in C# because I need to write the level editor to some degree.

The sound works!

if you would like a demo, give me a MIDI or typical wave song, and I'll create an application that plays it and lets you make chiptune noises with the Z, X, and C keys.

The sound works!

straight holy C (pretty much strict ANSI C)

DirectDraw Error (DDERR_UNSUPPORTED)??!!

Check your drivers, but also make sure your resolution is set high enough and that you're in full color mode.

I Need A Spriter

post=103323
You will likely need $$$ for this.

I haven't seen any professional spriters here, $$$ is for real companies who make games to hire people with. There's lots of people who will draw out some sprites for any of these kinds of individual hobby projects. It's about community.

However,

You need a nice solid idea first and some promising content. It has to look like you're going to finish the game and that the game will be fun. And because of that, it looks like you're only going to get help for something you can do yourself but would rather have someone else do it in a way you feel is much better. Or if people flake out you can go and save the project yourself.

Need help with RPG Maker 2 on the SNES

Set a switch at the end of the event, go to the next page and make the condition a switch there. Wow. It's been years and years since someone mentioned that.
