i hate this game, the ending crossed one of those lines that should not be crossed.
i hate when people say something is great then that's what you get >.>

What line do you think was crossed? If you're upset over the initial ending, replay the game on its new game + which includes a few different things, plus an extended (and happier) ending.

But personally, I liked the first ending myself. Hidden to avoid spoilers:

It was very bold, very powerful, and one that will leave a deeper impact on its audience for a long time to come. There's no set rule that a game has to have a happy ending. Her presence already defeated whatever monstrosity was haunting the village, but the villagers believed that a death was required to atone for the so-called sin, and she was an easy target. She could have easily turned in the culprit, but the fact that she was willing to be sacrificed on another's behalf spoke volumes of her personality and how she felt about the villagers, even more than what words could describe.

All of this loses its meaning in the replay with the happier ending, but it's still a very good game overall.

The first ending, though, was truly a sad and powerful ending, and one that left me with a wide variety of emotions. So kudos to the developer for crossing the very line you hate.

I don't have the abilities, but they do. Why can't they make my game for me?

The I don't have to take a dump yet excuse!

MakerScore question about game rating

It really boils down to with thousands of games available, the chances a game will get even 1 review greatly reduced, unless there was a lot of hype built up around the game beforehand, and even then that's not a guarantee as I see a lot of games with pages upon pages of feedback but no reviews.

There's also the mindset from developers and players alike that if a game already has a review and there's nothing more to add that will change the score, why should somebody bother to post an additional review. I had one developer get a bit defensive that too many reviews could hurt their chances of building hype for a potential remake and was trying to discourage people from leaving reviews.

Also, this really isn't a case of a game being unknown if it doesn't have a review. Sure, it could be a part of the issue. But there are good known games that also suffer from a lack of reviews, because people just don't care enough to review games anymore.

There's really only two options I see here:

1. Encourage more reviews. This has been discussed in length before, and there's really no easy fix to this. The people who like to review games will continue to do so, but they can't be expected to play and review everything, especially with the amount of games that comes in each day; and those who don't care enough won't.

2. Make MS for reviews about the reviewer and not about the developer. By this, I mean continue to reward the reviewer with MS for every review that gets submitted and approved, but don't give MS to a developer based on a review somebody else did (especially since reviews are opinionated and subject to bias that may not properly reflect the game's good and bad points). MS is already given (I believe) to the featured games (in the spotlight); getting there should be rewarding enough for a developer.

Can you report game pages?
author=Liberty
Odd, I thought you could. Well, sending a PM to me or one of the other staff works too.

Another viable option would be to report a post on the game page in question (assuming a post has been made) since the report would indicate the game page but clearly state in the report that it's in regards to the game page rather than the reported post.

I did, once, a long time ago when I was a newbie. It's not common but it's worth pointing out to the populace. I can understand someone new thinking it's not a big deal - game is cancelled, got a new game to deal with, maybe change my gamepage...
But, yeah. ^.^;

I've seen this once or twice myself (new title, new images, new everything, but the comments referring to the old game were still there) but assumed the game they were previously developing morphed into something new altogether, not that they cancelled whatever game they were working on and changed the game page to something else.

So I suppose that leads into a potential issue: How do you distinguish when a game has been completely cancelled and a new game topic must be submitted for the new game being worked on, versus when a game that is still being developed completely changes that it barely resembles what it started off as? At one point is it no longer okay to modify a game topic to reflect what the game now is, even if it happens to be the same train of thought and same project, but with new graphics, maps, resources, and name?

Not only that, but big game companies still have the rights to C&D's, so it's not like a hobbyist developer would ignore them if they were asked to stop, even for non-profit projects. Also, there's the fact that many of the big game developers recognize people use their resources for fan-based projects, and in some cases even encourage it since it brings attention and advertisement to their own commercial endeavors.

Small indie developers don't often have the recognition behind their names, so when somebody rips from them without prior permission, it hurts them much more.

Lost Story Review

I don't believe so. Because it feels more like a work in progress and you're working on revamping it, I'm holding off scoring it, but feedback is feedback, and no single person reviews a game the same way.

However, as long as there is a download option, people are going to comment and/or review, regardless of how complete the game is or not. If you're concerned with people review the game while it's going through a revamp, you can always remove the current download.

Lost Story Review

I've my own review pending now, but I'll say it here anyways. Having played it myself, this review makes much more sense, especially the issues with the visuals.

Oversight Review

Bzzzt... Wrong. I read the entire review plus all the comments. And I don't have to make myself look cool when you're doing such a fine job of making yourself look like a fool.

I've already explained all I have to say and if you all are still going to decide to ignore all of that then I give up talking.

Which translates:

Somebody said something bad about my game and now I'm going to go and pout in the corner somewhere.

News flash! You post something on the internet for the public, expect that people will have something to say about it. You can't handle the criticism, then don't post. It's really so simple.

And description/page layout (bright neon yellow text on white background is a no, just in case anyone was wondering).

TESTING, TESTING

Yeah, I probably would need sunblock and a pair of sunglasses just to look at that.
