Painted Heart Review
Great review, and reflects my own personal thoughts. It's a visually appealing game that could have been a great experience were it not marred down between awkward dialogue and complicated battle mechanics.
In fact, I think this game could have worked better had it left out the battles entirely and added more puzzles.
But it's still an intriguing game with a very unique feel to it.

I do like the world map, though, it has a nice retro look to it. Makes me want to play and explore it all the way through.
[RMVX ACE] looking for short traditional rpgs
There's a huge "Games" category on this site you can start with. Search for completed games in the maker of your choice. Many of these games are less than 20 hours to invest; some are much higher.
If you're looking to sort your list down further, look at high-rated games, but beware that ratings can often be biased here.
Outside of that, when you say traditional, what are you after? If you're asking for turn-based, exploration, maps, towns, loot, story, etc., well, that's probably 75% of the games we have here. If you're looking for something more on the lines of Dragon Warrior, that narrows the list down, but also could limit what maker you are using if examples of such games only appears on a certain maker.
VX Ace is the newest, and there's plenty to view from, but a lot of the old classics (like Dragon Fantasy, Heroes Realm, and Blackmoon Prophecy) that are more in tune with the classic style are going to be found on 2K and 2K/3.

The stairs in the cave look as if they're going to drop the part right into the pool of water. If that's not the intent, I'd suggest adding solid ground in front of the stairs where the party will get dropped off at.
Rpg Maker 3D
If that's the best that a 3D RM can do, I'll stick with 2D.
Actually, RM3 on PS2 was 3D; not sure why they can't just bother with porting it over to PC. That way, everybody who wants 3D can be happy, and we'll find out if the claim that a 3d maker won't be able to live up to the hype (due to lack of models, skills, etc) has any merit.

[RMVX ACE] Where are all the 10+ hour long story fouced turn based VX Ace RPGs?
Central Impulse, Incitement, and Incitement 2 are all pretty decent VXA games, all by the same person.
But you're right, there's a large lack of VXA games as of now. 2 years should have been enough to get some more than what we have, but maybe the next year or so will have better results.

Square-Enix Decides To Give All Of Its Fans The Middle Finger By Re-Releasing The PC Port Of FF7 For The PS4

Yes, but why wouldn't it be a big soulless cash-in of FIRST RESORT, as opposed to one of LAST RESORT? They're a for-profit huge company.
Somebody once mentioned it was their Ace in the hole, the only thing keeping people around these days. And the moment they give the fans what they want, the fans will leave. So instead they string the fans along, giving vague hints of what they may or may not do, telling fans to buy this and that and support them, and maybe they'll consider it.
I'm not sure if that's really what's going on or not, but it makes you wonder sometimes. Of course, now that the hype for Final Fantasy XV has been built so high, I'm sure that fans will stick around hoping for this game to be released one day. If anything, I think the hype for Final Fantasy XV will kill the franchise more so than a remake for Final Fantssy VII. Why?
Because...
1. If it turns out as great as it was hyped, fans are going to expect this level of quality going forward. I doubt SE has it in them for another 8-year project of this magnitude. Not to mention the time and money that's already been lost on this, with no guarantee of a profitable return.
2. If it doesn't live up to the hype, fans are going to be extremely disappointed and may be reluctant to invest in any future projects from them.
Terminator Genisys, AKA "Bad Terminator 2"

Why doesn't Skynet send a T-1000 to kill John Connor's ancestors back in the bronze age? Liquid metal blades would dominate that in era.
Better yet, go back to the very beginning of time. For those who believe in creation, they can destroy the first human couple. For those who believe in evolution, they can kill whatever humans spawned from.

I like 7 as it is. I don't really understand the concept of remakes anyway (with some exclusions, I suppose), so I'd rather that Square Enix, and anybody, spent their energy on original games.
A full-on remake is not needed, I agree, but a simple port really doesn't do the game justice on a next gen console like the PS4. I still pop in a lot of the old classics from time to time, and I like them the way they are, but when it comes to porting those same games, I expect some level of re-imagining to be done.
I mean, I love Final Fantasy Origins on PS1 as much as I love the original NES games, and I think they did a decent job of porting that game over with updated visuals and translations, and other fixes, so the same should be done for any FFVII port.
Personally, with all the mods going on in the PC for FFVII, a perfect remaster for me would be to update the game to HD standards with modified sprites and battlers, maybe update some of the background details, update some of the cut scenes but don't change how the cut scenes play out, and update/fix the translation mistakes.
Don't mess with the core of the game, leave the mechanics and quests alone as they are, don't need to add AC-like scenes, don't need a Devil May Cry game play, don't need voice acting, or any of that.
That way veterans won't be able to complain (too much) about the changes and may actually appreciate the game even more, knowing that SE went out of their way to keep the feel of the original game while giving it a fresh coat of paint. And new gamers (those who appreciate turn-based rpg's anyways) might even appreciate the game as well.
