Jesus Christ, that sounds absolutely terrible. That's not even normal, man.

well i've been checked up plenty of times and nothing has been found wrong with me that could be the cause of it so i just have to deal with it.

Do you mean the stomach flu, or Influenza?

Cause Influenza will kill you, man.

My mom is a little crazy she is bi-polar. And she thought ginger was sick and suffering. So one day she got up without telling anyone took ginger to the vet and told the vet to put ginger down. The vet fought with my mom for like an hour telling her that ginger was not sick and did not need to be put to sleep. But my mom would not hear reason. So the vet put my fucking dog down. >:(

That's so sad, I'm sorry to hear that man :(

I have two dogs, I love them both. Actually, one (a rescue sheltie named Laddie) is my mom's, and mine is my purebred Yorkie.

Both of my dogs are troubled. Laddie doesn't have teeth anymore, except for one or two... he came to the rescue shelter with his teeth rotting. When we first got him, he ran away and no one could find him. We basically wrote him off. Then, 3 months later, we received a call that someone had found him. He'd been living in a field, but whenever anyone tried to get him, he ran away. Before he ran away, he was overweight... now, he's the correct weight. He's one lucky creature, that's for sure. Now, he never leaves my mom's side.

My dog has IBS and thyroid problems so we have to give him shots every month or he pukes everywhere. He's a boy (his full name is Sir Bailey Angus Macduff, but we just call him Duff) so I keep his hair short. He also likes to burrow under couches, in closets, in plastic bags... basically under or in anything. He's very good at hiding.

Wow. This is a dangerous attitude that leads to a nation of lemmings waiting around for the government to help them out, instead of individuals being empowered to help themselves.

The government is not a separate, ruling entity. WE ARE the government, and IT IS the people. It doesn't spend a dollar that it didn't take out of the market first, or print from thin air. (And since currency itself is no longer backed by anything of real value, diluting the currency supply without increasing real wealth is an indirect tax on everyone who has dollars. I didn't get a 20% return on several of my client base's investments just because of dumb luck.)

If you want economic growth, you don't get it by taking money away from the people who will spend it productively.

EDIT: Crap. This is my first double post EVER. And probably my last. I thought I was editing my last one.

I think this was kind of a knee-jerk reaction. It sounds good in theory but when you actually think about it, it is kind of naive. Think of all the money that the government has to spend just to keep thing running ... defense, security, public works like bridges and highways, information technology, education. Do you realize all the jobs that creates? You're a teacher, right? Your paycheck probably comes from money that the federal government gave the state as an education subsidy.

Unless he's a private school teacher... those guys have it pretty rough. At my alma mater, most of the younger teachers held second jobs (my lit teacher was a bartender) or they had spouses who brought in more.

I don't really know where I stand on this. I guess I'm kind of an old-timey republican because I believe that peoples' hard-earned dollars shouldn't be taken away from them. I know that's kind of a simplistic view of things, but plenty of people work really hard in this country to see income tax put a sizable dent in their wallets and go to things they either a) don't support or b) would have supported (through charity) if they'd had the cash to spend.

However, I do know that government spending is very important, especially if we're going to be socializing health care...

Socialism doesn't work, but it doesn't seem Trickle-Down did much for us either. I'm a capitalist in theory (private business in theory should promote competitive prices/products to compete with one another) but it doesn't seem to be working out like it should. The problem is, I don't know of a single economic or political stance that works the way it ought to.

All I know is that a World War against undeniable evil got this country (as well as the rest of the world) out of a global depression before. I'm not suggesting that someone spawn another Hitler here, but what we really need is something to give a crap about (promoting nationalism) that would spawn A LOT OF JOBS (e.g. the weapons industry in WWII).

Basically the summation of my post is: Nothing works, but something needs to happen!

What are you thinking about right now?

What was the final score? I quit watching at 3 minutes left in the 4th.

What are you thinking about right now?

... GO CARDINALS (just to be contrary.)

No, but seriously, Go Steelers. I don't really know who to root for since all three of my teams are out.

Chopsticks? Have you ever used them?

I had a dream last night that, among other things, was about my plight of not being able to find chopsticks. I don't know what I was eating, but it was either sticky rice or potstickers, and I just couldn't eat the damn things without chopsticks : (.

Some foods are much easier to eat with them... some are easier to eat with a fork. It all comes down to personal preference.

have you ever lost hope in your project

You know, they always tell you in any medium to use peoples' criticism for the better and be positive about it.

But "They" always forget how much it sucks and how hard it hurts when someone truly busts your shit.

I'm going to be honest - I don't stick my head out. When I write a screenplay, I write shitty Stephen Segal straight-to-video crap that I don't give shit one about, because for me, if I get a harsh critique about it, I can laugh and say "heh, you're absolutely right - THIS IS CRAP!" However, this stuff tends to be my best received because I treat that work more like commissions/jobs and make sure they're technically sound.

However, I have never once finished a project of my heart, something I truly cared for, because more often than not, I sabotage myself. I think "this isn't the way this was meant to be told - it isn't perfect, and I'm not ready to tell this story yet." Sometimes I'll make the mistake of showing it to people. More than half the time, the people around me will be IMMENSELY supportive. But there's always that one douchebag who doesn't know the difference between constructive critique and assholery.

And as for people being assholes, yes, lots and lots of people you meet IRL or on the internet will be cruel. But to quote Peggy from Mad Men, "You think you're being helpful." They do! The great majority of people out there have NO IDEA how to give constructive criticism. That's why we devoted a full half a semester to it in my conservatory. Many (most) people will cross the line between being helpful and being hurtful.

That doesn't mean you should not take what they say into account. In fact, do what everyone says you should do - it is healthy and mature to take the critiques and leave the jerkitude behind, taking everything people say into account but not taking the harsh phrasing of it to heart... but also, don't feel ashamed if you feel like giving up. It happens to the best of us.

Good luck!

2008 misaos

The only issue I see with knocking off three categories from the writing section is that it leaves the sections poorly balanced, with less awards than the other sections. Hmm.

Also, this might be a retarded idea, but what about a Most Promising Newcomer award, or Best Breakout Game... something of the like to encourage new makers to release their games, even if they're not as solid as the oldbies.

How about this; are there any cliches that you LIKE?

I do not ever ever like cliche. For something to be a cliche, it is by necessity (and the definition of the word as used today) tired and predictable.

HOWEVER, there are many Tropes that I enjoy quite a lot! It doesn't matter if a plot or genre point is used as long as it is handled correctly. If something is handled well, it will never appear "cliched" and always familiar.

Almost ten months and still going strong.

Congrats : ) I remember the honeymoon period (le sigh)...

It starts getting rockier at circa 24 months, usually.
