I Miss the Sunrise

author=Deltree
Oh, it's not so bad!

Tez gets better, and Mahk lives to be an old man, so they mostly end up being okay. Tez is even playable in the third game!

Wait, he does? I thought Mahk died in the Second Blackening. Not a pleasant way to go.

Edit: Woah wait by "third game" do you mean The Drop or How Far?

I got so confused on this one because I thought the math stuff from the other side held true here as well. In actuality it's deceptively simple.

Oh wow, it really does have a smiley face. I can't believe I never noticed that.

Born Under the Rain

Haha! That is clever. Isn't that against the rules for spinxes, though? Or is there some story where they can do that?

Born Under the Rain's Soundtrack

Oh, you have a Bandcamp? Didn't know that.

Do you plan to upload the soundtrack for A Very Long Rope too?

Born Under the Rain

Aha! I see it now.

The game was quite nice, overall. I'm finding that I really like Craze-style progression systems, with the emphasis on equipment. I particularly love how they give both a stat boost and a skill, since that creates multiple strategic layers and possible tradeoffs. Treasure hunting in the dungeons was really fun, and I love Metroidvanias, so I appreciated the different exploration skills too. People say that the combat was tedious, but I didn't think it was too bad. But I did play on easy mode, so maybe that had something to do with it. :p I thought the skills were inventive and fun, and there was great synergy between the characters. I found boss fights to be far harder than regular fights, which were usually trivial -- mainly because of the limited duration and uses of skills, which only becomes an issue in longer fights. (I also didn't find myself using very many items -- I only used 2 revival droughts, I think -- but again, easy mode.)

Puzzles were also fun, though a bit on the easy side, I thought. The riddles, in particular, were very easy to solve (even though I got one wrong initially, haha), especially since it's easy to brute-force. Funnily enough, the spinx's riddle on the second day completely stumped me, and I was a little worried I would have to solve it! It's cool to see protagonists take the straightforward option for once, but it might have been nice if solving it led to a bonus prize or something.

The story was short and simplistic, but it worked well for what it was. It was nice to see something other than generic medieval Europe for once. I saw the ending coming a mile off, though it was actually a lot happier than I expected!

I expected Masud to die after using the tear, but if he actually gets eternal life as a mummy, that's not really a worse fate than the other pharohs get! Although, wouldn't his body have died by that point anyway? The game takes place over five days, and humans can usually only survive three days without water...

Born Under the Rain

How do you solve the sphinx's final riddle? Does it work automatically when you input the right combination, or do you have to do something else? Do you only get one chance?

I chose blood, sun, moon, teeth -- if that's wrong I don't know what else it could possibly be!

Those two things are not mutually exclusive. There's a reason why blackface is generally considered racist.

A Colorful Update - 04/07/2015

The calm and cool trainer poses look possible, but the tough and quirky poses look rather extreme. Their heads are at about the same angle as the boys', but their bodies are tilted more towards the camera than away. You can see the tough girl's back shoulder, even! It looks like she's standing sideways with her head over her shoulder. Most people do not tilt their head at such an extreme angle on a normal basis. It's unnecessary to give them such a different pose than the boys, and comes across as skeevy even if that's not what you intended.

(The calm and quirky girls also look like they're looking to the right rather than ahead, which just doesn't make sense given the established perspective of the battle.)

Pokemon Roster

Oh, my apologies, I didn't know how the whole community design thing worked. Never mind, then. It's not a dealbreaker or anything, it just jarred me a little when I glanced across it.
