Testing

At least anyone who downloads the game now will have it work correctly.
(And technically, there actually is a workaround--play with clean mode off, as the bug only manifested itself when there is only 1 character in the game. But I knew that wouldn't be practical for you as a tester, so I fixed it right away)

Ah, interesting idea. I'll consider it.
The notes don't include date reminders. They are either about the type of boy she likes, what she thinks about date spots, or what she thinks about gifts.

Push (6 quick levels)

You make me regret bothering to post here (and I'm probably going to regret it again). If I were you I would be more helpful towards people who are trying your game. You didn't make the slightest effort to supply any hints for the place where I got stuck. Also, it wasn't obvious that there is a run button; all the game ever mentioned was SHIFT + ENTER.

I'll go away now before you talk down to me again.

^ Marrend is correct, there is nothing wrong with anything he's written. It was a bug in the game that is fixed in v0.71

^ Ok, sending you a PM....

Push (6 quick levels)

Got stuck on "use a sword to defeat the flame". No idea how I'm supposed to proceed.

If you're serious about this game I would definitely change the controls. SHIFT+ENTER for pulling means I have to put down my joystick and reach for the keyboard every time I want to push something.

I think these puzzles could be used in a full-blown RPG. If you're not planning to do more with them, I bet there's somebody out there who could use them.

Push (6 quick levels)

I have the feeling I might like this game, but I hate having to go hunt down RTP. I recommend just including RTP with the game. Nobody minds that it makes the file size larger.

RMN sucks 5

Maybe I'm mental, but I can't figure out how to leave the first overhead map screen. I tried to bring up the status screen again to see if there was something I need to do there, but it seems I can't bring up the status screen once I leave the initial cave. Btw I recommend not having SHIFT bring up the status screen; keep things joystick-friendly.

Heartache 101 ~Sour into Sweet~

There is new built-in story content in v0.70 including:
- a secret character
- Hinami's story route slightly extended
- new cheating/jealousy events

You can now hold the L button ('q' on the keyboard) to "smart skip" through text. It will only skip through text if you have already seen it, or if it is a generic event. R or CTRL can still be used to "stupid skip" through any text.

Also, new customization features I've mentioned on the custom content page, countless bug fixes, etc.

Because of the new story content and changes to record-keeping, old saves and records will not be compatible with this version.

edit: Marrend found a bug today that was rendering his custom content useless so I've fixed that one too.

Custom content (archived discussion)

Not sure what to do about the former issue, but I came up with a simple solution for the latter in v0.70. You can now hold down the A button ('z' on the keyboard) during Story Test to force conditional branching to succeed.

In addition, I've added some cheats that can be used for playtesting. I'd rather not list them here, so just ask me if you'd like to know. (Dude, spaz, and Marrend, you three don't have to ask; I'll send you PMs with the cheats since I know you guys are actively working on content)

There are two new optional fields in profiles:

GENDER = Male
Pronouns such as "he" and "him" will be used to refer to the character in generic events. In other words, BxB is supported now.

TYPE = 2
Sets the character as having a hyper affection build type. What does this mean? It means two things.
1. She will appear in generic events less frequently than normal.
2. All affection increases applied to her will be doubled.

Basically, this is a way to allow minor characters or characters without a lot of story behind them to be easily romanceable. This feature wasn't requested by anyone, but I felt I needed to add it to better approach the vision I have of a game where there can be dozens of romanceable characters running around.
