Are you ready for The Console War???

Benefits of a world map?

I prefer the zoomed in Zelda approach, but then again, I've never had the need for a massive hub area that could be considered a world map. All my games have been set in single locations, so all the exploration is of the world around you, rather than the entire globe.

I never liked world maps much. They tend to be dull to wander through, and hero walk speed is almost always reduced, and then you get games like FF2 where you can only tell where not to go by how badly the enemies beat you up. They're just not my thing.

Release Something! Day V for Vendetta [Dec 21st]

What's the point of me saying I want to do something and not do it? It gives me some kind of motivation.
I'm sure people wouldn't sign up if they didn't think they could do it, but even something as simple as lack of motivation can stop an RS!D submission (or any release date, for that matter!). They'll do their best to meet the deadline, but...sometimes, shit just happens. That's why it's not a commitment.

Which Final Fantasy villains reign would be the worst to live under?

If that is the case, Sephiroth would kill everything - forget an actual reign, he himself would also die in the process and there wouldn't be anything. So you either take him out of the list as a possibility for this scenario, or he wins automatically.

I guess his "reign" would be the time between the summoning of Meteor and its collision with the planet. The instant death of everything would totally suck, but no one would be around to care about it, either...

And wasn't Jenova just inside the first meteor that struck? All the worst things come from space.

Wasn't there a topic recently about the sheer moronic nature of the stuff in this subforum? I mean, this is moronic, even for here!

Oops, I mean...

It's not as good as it sounds...

RM RPGs...you have beaten

I don't remember the name but it had RTP graphics and sounds and lots of anime porn.
The Adventures of Mr. Big T? Just a guess, I've never actually played any of his games.

Code Monkeys Podcast Future Releases

Isn't the leaving of two podcast members to start another podcast essentially the same as you guys giving Nick the boot?

And why did you decide to split up? It seemed like you worked together pretty well.

Which Final Fantasy villains reign would be the worst to live under?

I can't help but notice Raem is missing from this list. For those who don't know, he was the final boss of FF: Crystal Chronicles, and he's a demon that feeds off peoples' memories. It's true he was behind the scenes the whole time and had a much more subtle effect over the world than the other FF villains, but he had some pretty nasty stuff going. I mean, forcing all the people of the world to live in little bubbles so he can feast on their unhappy memories? That's really cruel! Everyone had miserable lives and Raem forced amnesia on them for his own gluttonous purposes.

Not saying he's the worst, just pointing out he should definitely be a candidate.

Remarkable lines of some video games.

Everybody knows the quote "I AM ERROR" from The Adventure of Link, but it turns out that's actually that characater's name! Later on in the game, you encounter an NPC that tells you to ask Error about where you need to go next. I think he may have just been a bad translation of the name "Errol."

Just a fun little fact, there. I guess I should quote somebody, too...hmm...

"The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated,"
- Regulus from Bomberman 64: The Second Attack. This quote is also originally from someone else, but I can't recall who or what from...
