halibabica's All-Star Mode: a challenge to all Brawl players!
NO. Nonononononononononononono. It's Super Metroid's Brinstar, so NYEEAAA. Besides, Zero Suit Samus would fry without her Varia suit. She's better off in the Frigate, even if it doesn't make sense (and yes, I know the reasoning doesn't make sense either!).
Top Ten Topic: Favorite Video Game Villains
My favorites...I'll do ten of them, but in no particular order.
Bowser - Mario's arch-enemy just never knows when to quit. He might be a complete moron, but he's just an abominably tough guy! Or at least, he looks that way...
Ganondorf - I don't think I could personify evil any better than him. With his underhanded tactics and insatiable lust for power, he just defines villainy to me.
Lavos - As a villain, he's fairly innactive. But what makes him cool to me is how he plays a role in everything by hardly doing anything at all. His presence on the planet alone is enough to make him a force to be reckoned with.
Dr. Robotnik - And none of this "Eggman" crap, either! I never really understood his motive, but anyone with the technical skills and innovation he possesses can make for a very unique, ever-changing enemy. I can't think of many others who can match his versatility.
Sirius - Though many of you may not know him, he was secretly the main villain in Bomberman 64. He fed you lies the whole game to get you to help him while he, in turn, helped you. Then, in what might have been the final act, he betrays you and assumes the role of the enemy you just defeated! Maybe it's because I was younger when I played the game, but I love to hate him for that.
Regulus - Yet another Bomberman 64 enemy. He works for the supposed main bad guy, but helps Bomberman after Sirius takes over. In spite of this, he still hates Bomberman's guts (for beating him) and remains his eternal rival. He was never quite a friend, and always ready for a fight. Too bad he disappeared off the face of the series...
Raem - All you Final Fantasy fans rave about greats like Kefka and Sephiroth, but in Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, this guy tormented the world in a way those two could never hope to! He's a demon that feeds off of memories. He doesn't need to eat much to survive, but he's both a glutton and a connoissuer. And painful memories are always the tastiest, so making people suffer just makes his meals more delicious...just imagine, losing your memories forever...
Gruntilda - The main villain of Banjo-Kazooie. She's crude, wicked, and delightfully evil. Her character quirks make her a lot more interesting, and her occasional taunts to the player are always good for a chuckle.
Mother Brain - I never beat the original Metroid (too crappy), so I'm talking about her Super Metroid incarnation. In addition to being the center of the Space Pirate's operations on Zebes, I respect her just for her sheer unfathomable power. She's way over 9000, and Samus would've been screwed if it weren't for her Metroid buddy.
The Doctor - Cave Story's own 2nd biggest bad guy. He reminds me of a more intellectual Ganondorf. He makes systematic and cunning decisions to elevate himself straight to the top, and I admire that kind of ambition in villains. Beats the hell of all the ones that are just bat-crazy!
And that's all ten...I was hard-pressed to come up with that many. Hmm...I should play more games.

author=Quiversee link=topic=1490.msg23455#msg23455 date=1215798492Believe it or not, that's how I originally had it. However, I decided that Link fit in a little better in Smashville than Marth did (being the happy lil' adventurer he is). That's really the only reason why. Not that it matters too much, they're both virtually flat stages.author=halibabica link=topic=1490.msg23444#msg23444 date=1215774686author=Koregoth link=topic=1490.msg23439#msg23439 date=1215759650Well, then where would Sheik go?
BTW Link should be on Temple :-P
I actually think Link and Marth should switch plaecs and leave Sheik where she is.

author=Koregoth link=topic=1490.msg23439#msg23439 date=1215759650West coast is 3 hours ahead of me, so 1 PM there would be 4 PM here. So, I wouldn't pick a time any later than 4 (which is 7 for me).
I'm on west coast so its what 3-4 hour difference in time? Let me know what times\days your good for, and I'll go find my code lol...

halibabica's All-Star Mode: a challenge to all Brawl players!
Right. But, there's no set amount of time I plan on running this for (probably as long as people are still interested). So, take your time. Get a feel for the differences between it and Melee, and lemme know when you think you're ready for it.
Maybe you'll have better luck with me. Connection quality seems to be a regional thing with Brawl, and I have pretty fast internet. It also helps if you use a direct connection instead of wireless.

This sounds like a hoot, but every time I attempt Wii Connect, disconnects and lagging are the only certainties of the universe.

halibabica's All-Star Mode: a challenge to all Brawl players!
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, All-Star Mode pits you against the entire cast of the game with one life and limited healing items. This is the same idea, but without all the life and percentage restrictions.
So, here's the deal. I've been playing Brawl for a good while now, and I finally feel comfortable enough with all the characters to hold my own in a fight with them (with a few exceptions). Now, I'm looking for people who are willing to take me on as all of them in one sitting.
It's basically 40 matches in a row. I start as Mario and change characters each match, working my way from left to right on the character select screen (you can be whoever you want). Each character gets their own stage that suits them best without repeating stages. Since there are 39 different characters and 41 stages, all but two stages are used. Here's a list of who I'd be in what order and where.
1. Mario: Mushroomy Kingdom
2. Donkey Kong: Jungle Japes
3. Link: Bridge of Eldin
4. Samus: Brinstar
5. Zero Suit Samus: Frigate Orpheon
6. Kirby: Green Greens
7. Fox: Corneria
8. Pikachu: Pokemon Stadium
9. Marth: Smashville
10. Mr. Game & Watch: Flat Zone 2
11. Luigi: Luigi's Mansion
12. Diddy Kong: Rumble Falls
13. Zelda: Hanenbow
14. Sheik: Temple
15. Pit: Skyworld
16. Meta Knight: Halberd
17. Falco: Big Blue
18. Squirtle: Delfino Plaza
19. Ivysaur: Yoshi's Island (Melee)
20. Charizard: Norfair
21. Ike: Castle Siege
22. Snake: Shadow Moses Island
23. Peach: Mario Circuit
24. Yoshi: Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
25. Ice Climbers: Summit
26. King Dedede: Rainbow Cruise
27. Wolf: Lylat Cruise
28. Lucario: Spear Pillar
29. Ness: Onett
30. Sonic: Green Hill Zone
31. Wario: WarioWare, Inc.
32. Toon Link: Pirate Ship
33. R.O.B.: PictoChat
34. Olimar: Distant Planet
35. Captain Falcon: Port Town Aero Dive
36. Jigglypuff: Pokemon Stadium 2
37. Lucas: New Pork City
38. Ganondorf: Battlefield
39. Bowser: Final Destination
40. Random: Random
But, wait! If there are only 39 cast members, how can there be 40 fights? Well, the final fight is a random character on a random stage, so you never know what you'll get for the last round. The only two stages that don't get used are 75m and Mario Bros., but they still might come up in the end...
The matches would all be 3 stock and non-timed. Items can be on, but if they're on, I'd keep them on low. Also, with this list, you'll know who I'm being next and what stage I'm choosing for them. You can use this info to your advantage. If you don't like the stage I'm choosing next, you can pick a different one and hope mine doesn't get chosen. Or, if you like the sound of this, you can play along and pick the same as me. I can't control you, but I'll pick these spots for these characters regardless!
Now, here's what separates this from just a regular batch of Brawls. With each match, I'm going to be keeping score. You don't have to win to get points, just K.O. me at least once. Here's how the scoring breaks down:
K.O. me once: 1 point. That's nothing!
K.O. me twice: another 4 points, for a total of 5.
K.O. me all three times: another 5 points, for a total of 10.
So, if you fought every match and beat me every time, the most you could get would be 400 points. But, wait! There's more! If, by some act of Satan, you manage to K.O. me all three times without losing a life yourself (ie 3-stocking), you get an additional 10 points for a match total of 20! I'm not betting on this happening, so your score is defined by the 400 limit in spite of it. It'd be a dark day when someone got an 800 out of me...
When all the fighting is over, I'll post the results here. It'll include who you played as, where we fought (if any different from my chosen stages), how many points you got in each round, and your end total/rank. Even if you quit in the middle of it, I'll still post the results. However, your score and rank will be adjusted based on when you quit.
Any questions? Or, more importantly, any challengers?! If you're interested in attempting my All-Star mode, PM me with your schedule so I can pick a time we both can meet online. Just please remember about time zones, as I'm on America's east coast. I may also need your Brawl code and name tag, so include those as well. Also, if you're serious about this, remember:
40 matches x 5 minutes each = 3 hours and 20 minutes.
I don't think every match would take that long to fight, but it's a possibility. So, keep in mind how early you'll want to start this if you intend on finishing it. I'm also okay with someone starting where they left off if they had to quit from an earlier try.
I look forward to destroying you all.
