You're not saying anything I disagree with.
I would say that my most recent game is objectively better than Skyborn, but I think we hit a really good note with Skyborn. It isn't popular on accident, as much as Craze and Craze-like old guard would love to believe - that I don't deserve anything I've earned or accomplished.
A lot of things affect popularity other than game quality. Sometimes a game just speaks to people. (To The Moon) Luck, timing, getting a popular let's player to play it, etc, also play a part.
Considering how many games come out on Steam anymore, this will only become more and more of a thing.

Oh I know. Craze has had an irrational vendetta with me for years so I had to call him out. This poll means very, very little in the grand scheme.

author=Crazeharmonici thought you intelligent enough to understand that it's two very different audiences between those that seek free rm* games and those who play all the crappy rm* rpgs on steam, but i guess you just wanted to lick your balls in a necro'd topic anyway
My least popular game gets listed, my half a million steam codes redeemed game does not. Ha
the sword and the fish and leo & leah are pretty good.
Yep, leave it up to Craze to come out swinging at me because I'm me!
Yes, I understand it's different audiences. I was making a passing observation on the rather insular and specific sample set happening in this thread. Hardly any actual fucks given.
Skyborn isn't "crappy." It's actually really good. It is quite popular on Steam. But I understand why you have to say that because...
It's obvious that the old guard of RMN doesn't like it when commercial games get popular, specifically if the author is Amanda, me, or Aldorlea. Can't you just be happy for your fellow RM users who took a different path with the software?

Why MMOs all suck!
When it comes to league, even though they cater to the meta, it's not Riot's fault that players have a poor attitude regarding any kind of out-of-meta experimentation.
I know that when I'm playing ranked, it sure makes me nervous though. Like, do you know what you're doing with that build/champ/role?
Picking in-meta characters and builds bypasses that doubt.
Though obviously, you can follow the meta perfectly at still suck.

Yeah the menus aren't a high point. I like the structure but not the stone bevel. Definitely going to look better next time.
Discrimination within the narrative
author=Crystalgate
I take this as a no, meaning the backlash was not large enough that the writers have to worry.
Not in this case. But we all know how these things go. Give 'em an inch, they take a mile. And now that the progressive left has become the new religious right, it's probably only a matter of time when they attempt to remove more artistic freedom and make writers and designers scared to express themselves.
