Don't lose hope everyone.
If you are a liberal American like me, guess what there are ways to fight back my friends.
I volunteer for WolfPac
Wolf-Pac
The group aims to stop corruption in our government by stopping bribes with an amendment to the Constitution.
That's ofcourse just one way to fight back, there are all sorts of ways to get active in politics. Make your voice heard! Many are already protesting the election in cities across America.
Join a protest, Join a group, run for local elections yourself, Do something! If we stand united we can make a difference.
Keep hope alive!
An amendment to stop bribes to the government would make Trump voters extremely happy. That is a bipartisan issue. Only establishment DEMS and REPS want to keep the lobbyist status quo.
President Trump
A shake up on both sides is a good thing. The further away we get from personality, celebrity (Trump), and connections (Clinton), and the closer to issues and philosophy, the better. I think if this had been Cruz vs Sanders, we would have witnessed a true ideological debate. No such debate happened this time around.

Votes for far-out third party candidates are votes thrown in the garbage. It's irresponsible. You shouldn't be treating your vote as if you're expressing your innermost desires ("Trump and Clinton are both bad people"), but treat it as a strategic item. Which party is more likely to do you good, or which party is less likely to do you ill.
In this particular election it wouldn't have made much of a difference, but dopey Ralph Nader votes gave Bush the 2000 election so it's something to consider.
Preachin' to the choir here. Holy crap there was so much of this going on. It just comes off as virtue-signaling or "I'm too smart to take a side" when they do that. Like we're all supposed to be so impressed that they're too good to vote something useful.
It's a dream world of the perfect candidate. No such thing exists and never will. Rome wasn't built in a day. And yes, absolutely, we have Nader to thank for Bush in 2000, and Perot Clinton in 1992.
You're far more likely to change an existing major party than get any sort of support for a 3rd party in the US. And believe me, that's pretty much what just happened. That's why the establishment Republicans hated him, ran protest candidates against him, and offered very little support for his campaign.

I totally expected there to be a highly emotional counter post when I decided to post here. Feelings are hurt from the loss and I'm me. So Craze's little outburst is very very predictable.
My post was very inoffensive. I could have come here and gloated, taking revenge for all the abuse I've yielded being in the right-leaning minority, but I didn't. I'm being conciliatory here. And it was actually pretty good advice. Doubling down on identity politics is not the answer. It's not how you're going to change minds and hearts. It just makes the other person feel like they're on defense, like why even bother finding common ground.

There is a lesson to be learned from this. An honest lesson for life as well.
Resting on your laurels, living in a bubble, these things hold you back. In this case, it was "we are right and everyone who disagrees with us is a racist." Well... come on. You know it's not just that. Humans are complex, politics is complex.
I encourage Democrats to open their eyes to what actually went wrong, rather than "well this country just has too many racists in it." You're not going to learn anything from that. You wouldn't say that for personal failures would you? If you didn't get that promotion, would you just pout and blame everyone else for being stupid? Not if you plan on ever being successful.

ROFL you are so full of it!
fyi did you know that I've recently taken to distancing myself from this community? My words come from someone "outside of RMN" in that regard, sir.
I assure you all of those numbers are accurate.
I don't hate RMN the website, just the extremely vocal and obsessed group that just needs to be part of the "YEAH, WHAT HE SAID" crew. The group of small-minded bullies who find enjoyment in ganging up on the scapegoat du jour. I have expressed political opinions in the past that don't jive with the seemingly monolithic opinions here, which doesn't help, and apparently prompts people to find bigotry in my games that simply doesn't exist.
People are asking me to brag about "the amount of wealth" it has brought me. Obviously, I'm not going to share that, no one would share that. That's personal. I shared installs because that's public information. It's not about money. It's extremely fun and fulfilling to continue to push the boundaries of what RPGMaker is capable of, and continue my design goal of mixing RPG nostalgia with modern quality of life design decisions. We've developed exclusive systems, especially in our latest game, that have a ton of received comments to the effect of "even though it's RPGMaker, it's actually polished and good". That's what it's about.
That RMN seems to have "agreed" that my games just outright automatically suck - you can criticize certain features, sure. But objectively speaking, saying that they categorically and universally suck, just because they're made by me, is just silly. That's not criticism, that's petty insults. Not only to me, but the fantastic people who work with me.

You're yet another helpful example of "popular" and "quality" failing to overlap. You're the 50 Shades of Grey of RPG Maker. The fact that you can't take criticism, constantly sing your own praise and treat others like garbage makes it impossible to "just be happy for you."
I don't "constantly sing my praises." Come on, at least put some truth in your little gangbang. I'm simply responding to the massive slew of comment claiming everything I create is garbage. Of course I'm going to defend myself.
Anyway, done with this episode. This is ruining my vibe. Life's too short for this shit. See you in a year when nothing will have changed or improved.

typical RMN garbage post #5billion
"Slew" - 4 games in 7 years.
"Average" - 520,000 Skyborn installs on Steam alone.
"Creative complacency" - Entire soundtracks, one for each game, by me. First game's entire battle system evented by me. Every game most pixel art by me. Professional artists recruited and paid by me. Professional relationships developed and fostered by me.
Can't you just be happy for me? :D
Let's not forget two developers who have made way more games than I have for even longer than I have - Amaranth and Aldorlea. Praised and respected by myself and most everyone outside of RMN. Yet, they get shit on here. I remember how much flak this community was giving Aveyond - oh how much you could have learned from Amanda's success.

author=Blindmindauthor=CorfaisusI have nothing bad to say about Harmonic, but that's an interesting point. XD I can't help but wonder if that's the machine that drove the success of a lot of old-school RM projects (The Way, ABL, Legion Saga, Iron Gaia etc) that are so revered. Was it a case of true genius and prodigy, or did many of those older developers simply get lucky because there was no real criteria back then? Or a mix of both?
While I have nothing but dumbydumb things to say about Harmonic, the fact that he's been around for as long as he has and with such a big mouth is nothing to sneeze at. Remember how Legacies of Dondoran got 4,000+ downloads? What I wanted to know going into Skyborn is if any of his ego is earned. Is he some sort of closet genius who's only become more brilliant over the years, or is he just another washed up has-been that got lucky/showed promise in the early age of RM (see also: Legion)?
Some people just can't stand to see others succeed and they have to try and justify it as having somehow not been legitimately earned. Some going so far as to attempt to defame and discredit someone personally by accusing someone of anti-feminism based on an out and out lie.
Your life would be a lot better if you dropped that habit and instead tried to learn from others who have accomplished something you'd like to accomplish.
I am truly grateful for the players I've served, the people I've worked with - it's been a fantastic experience. However, it did not come free, or easily. I don't expect people like Corfaisus to ever understand or respect that, but I think it bears stating that success doesn't happen overnight, without sacrifice, and sleepless nights.
It *is* odd that there is SO much focus on me - someone who has never crowd-funded, never e-begged, never used rips in commercial games (it happens) goes to painstaking effort to fix the terrible reputation of RPGMaker, and to raise the quality bar of RPGMaker games. I can't remember how many times I've heard "don't let RPGMaker fool you - this is actually a good game".
There's a lot of low-hanging fruit out there if you're looking to tear other people down.

I was minding my own business. I haven't contacted Corf, haven't spoken with him, haven't posted here for months. I had forgotten about him. Suddenly, his review shows up in which is calls me a parasite, and then he randomly posts about me here. (Note that I have not once taken issue with a legitimate negative review. on Steam.)
Take note, Liberty, Corf brought this from the dead. Out of no where. There would be no drama if he had just left it alone.
Anyway.
Most of what Corf says is based out of ignorance. You end up saying abject falsehoods. Certifiably false. You played Skyborn for a half hour and without knowing that the story was actually predominantly written by my female partner in development, you accused me of "anti-feminism" because of what happens to Claret with the marriage gag. What the actual fuck?
The game has been out for 4 years, played by thousands, and no one has ever said that, until now. Your accusation that my "politics" is what determined that marriage gag (it is just that, a gag, very short term, doesn't actually happen, but you wouldn't know that since you didn't play it!) has been soundly debunked. Yet, will you take it back? Will you walk back your claim after it has been 100% debunked? I'm not holding my breath. I've never seen you walk back anything, despite being inaccurate or false, time after time.
Then you claimed 90% of my budget was spent on the airship. Actually 0$ was spent on the airship. My partner, an artist, made that herself. Debunked.
You have also claimed that I've "made a slew of games" when in fact, since 2009, I've published 4 games. Four. That's not very many. I have had a full time job the entire time. I would encourage you to check out Warfare Studios for a far, far more prolific developer. Debunked.
You have also claimed that I am "clearly not successful." Based on... no actual information. Debunked.
I have offered to provide him with a refund. And again, I did nothing. This post is a response to Corf who decided to revive his grudge with me out of thin air.
