JACKALOTRUN'S PROFILE

Longtime fan of the gam creation but has never really gotten very far with it, you can find me making a rare "there isn't an SMBX event going on right now" appearance but I only truly exit hibernation for dem sweet Mairo bois
I'd like to imagine I'm a nice guy but emphasizing too much on it is self-indulgent and not stating as such is passive - I'd like to think of myself as an imply-ey guy
On the rare occasion I might actually be useful to you I'd be more than happy to help as long as it requires absolutely no codey or imagey stuff, seriously I have just enough brain cells to breath, I have no chance of picking up actually useful skills for game design

Castles Masterpiece Sequel
author=seiromemauthor=jackalotrunAn official event is the dream!
This seems interesting, just a one thing, is this going to be an official event or a forum event?

Either way i'm in, judge perhaps?
Maybe, I'd like to get a list of candidate for judges and decide amongst them, so you'll be on that.
As for the levels being "Ruins" not castles, I think I'll revert back to castles. You know, so this can actually be called a sequel =P
Perhaps maybe just ruined castles!
Duly noted

I'm surprised that everyone seems to die a lot... i'm crap and (not including that last bastard of a level) I still got through pretty successfully...

I just had an idea and a request.
I'd like to "Remake" every single level in this pack (Barring the ones that are good) and compile it into a seperate game called
Super RMN Bros 3 : 2
By remake, I mean "Edit" the levels with the same theme, only executed better. This definitely include my Dr Toadly levels and Partners in Prime.
So if you have ideas or requests, tell me!
If you have an objection, I'll trashcan this idea.
Of course before I get to work I'll need the permission of every goddamn one of you!
Or if you don't want ME to fix them and instead you yourself, I'm all for it. Just throwing around some ideas.
If your gonna make it an event, it's got to fit in with the next rmn event.
Now that I think about it, that's not a bad idea, make it an event with two weeks of joining period, only members who originally took part can join (if that's possible, which I doubt, in of which case that dosen't matter anyway.) And the people who made their levels can remake them, people who didn't join for any reason (didn't know, thought it was a bad idea, is a miserable sod) can have their levels passed onto someone who wants to remake it (with permission of course), remove any level that no-one wants or the owner has not given us permission (Stop the clock and crap like that) am I wasting my time here?
As a note, I would like to fix my levels, i got me a new monitor for my old XP computer, which means i'm back in the game (editor)
Besides, haven't you all wanted to rewrite the history of the dreadful day we released it (probably not but I did)

Okay, jackalotrun, I looked at your level again. I set your level up to play the custom tracks; the editor did not crash.
Also, the water section in the underground temple you have...consider expanding it so the player has more room to swim. Consider it a minor gripe.
I can't, my editor still refuses to work
The Last King of Hyrule
author=DarklordKeinorauthor=jackalotrunTry deleting your system 32 folder; the file extensions usually cause SMBX to wig out. You'll find it in your windows folder (Don't do this..it won't end well.) it's a good job I thought "I thought system 32 was important..." I would have gone mental, you do not want to see me mental, alright, now that i've yapped yer ear off on something completely (un)related.
I don't think you understand, the Level Editor won't work, it opens but breaks upon attempting to load a level.
Run-time error "11": Division by zero.
Don't ever do that, I am the most gullible person and I don't usually read the whole sentence, you very well nearly made me destroy my computer didn't you... On an actual serious note, could you send me the level and music track? I could probably figure out your problem, or at the very least let you know if it is just something going on with your computer.
It's in my Hidden Oasis folder.

author=TangledLionauthor=jackalotrunI Just remembered Something that might help,or might not...But anyway, when i first tried custom music I ran into a similar bug, turns out my problem was i left off the ".mp3" Suffix, hope it helps.
Right guys, I can't do anything on the music bug in my level, I've just got around to it but the level editor refuses to work, any ideas?
author=LockeZauthor=jackalotrun1) Put a music file in the same folder that your Hidden Oasis.lvl file is in

2) Copy the filename, including the .mp3 at the end
3) Open your level in SMBX
4) Click on Level Settings
5) Set the music to anything other than "Custom"
6) Paste the filename in the box next to the "Custom" button
7) Set the music to "Custom"
8) Repeat steps 5 through 7 for each section of the level, since they each have their own music setting
