Final Fantasy 13 Delayed

I guess the latest ones are a bit too...unsubtle? Why not Bolt and Powder?

. . . . come to think of it, Power would make an excellent RPG hero.

Final Fantasy 13 Delayed

Actually most Final Fantasy leads have had meterology and geography-related names for a long time.

Terra (earth)
Cloud
Aerith (from aero or archaic form "aer")
Squall (it is a type of wind gust)
Garnet (a type of rock that is often polished for jewels)
Tidus (in reference to water)
I don't know if there is one in Final Fantasy XII.
And now Lightning/Snow etc.

So it's actually pretty typical. There are probably a lot more too.

Also I just looked it up and when originally started Basch was the main character in Final Fantasy XII. Vaan and Penelo were added at the last minute or whatever for marketing reasons(according to Wikipedia)! It makes sense because Vagrant Story starred a mature man, and the main character in Final Fantasy Tactics was portrayed in a progressively more positive light as he aged throughout the game.

Someone (I think BrandonAbley) talked about determining the random contents of chests well before the player opens them. I thought this was an awesome idea so I put it in. Also had another battle with RM2k3 that I lost >:( (and wasted half an hour trying to do something RM2k3 couldn't do)

Yes, I mentioned this to Craze about Demon Tower I think. It's a somewhat common idea in game design that you have probably heard - seeding. You do it so that you can have randomly generated elements that are still predictable. There are many benefits to this, the most obvious being that a player won't reload over and over again until the chest he is using gives him something awesome.

For Wilfred the Hero I used chests that all called back to the same function, and each chest you opened gave you the next item in a sequence of items. This way you were gradually rewarded in terms of percentage of completion of the game. It also prevents the player from missing out on something because they just happened to forget one chest. I think it is good for balance.

Anyway it's not a troll (as far as I know I don't do that) but I would best describe my tone as "tongue firmly in cheek" if that helps. I am not like being serious.

Okay, that's what I thought. It was just . . . after a couple of days I was getting worried.

In this topic I briefly comment on every video game I've ever played.

Oooooooooooohhhhhhh I didn't notice you said "cover". I thought you said "greatest game ever".

I doubt the graphical upgrade goes farther than just upping the size of the screen (note: resolution is the same). You change the hardware and now developers have to choose if they want to use the new hardware or alienate everybody who has an older DS, and I doubt developers would cut out a huge market just for prettier graphics. So even if there was a better GPU in the DSi, developers wouldn't use it (and Nintendo would know this too so why spend money on a better GPU?)

I can see more RAM so the DSi firmware can do more than pictochat (and its much cheaper than a GPU) but I'd doubt any game would take advantage of it for the above reason.

Well like the PSP received a hardware upgrade over its iterations, but it is used to just make existing games run more smoothly and reduce load times (faster memory). But the UMD drive still sucks.
