Logan's Run
Logan's Run was so surreal. Was that the one with the weird ice robot that looked like a refrigerator?

Yes it was (It looked more to me like he was wearing an AC conduit as a robe).

(Sexy werewolves...I don't see it.)
http://clandestineragerevealed.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/the-twilight-saga-new-moon-werewolves1.jpg

Well... They're fucking hot in the eyes of 13-year old girls.

*sigh* I know. I still...don't...see...it...or sparkly vampires.

@Darken Movies of the 70s rock. They include:

THX1138
Alien
Star Wars
Superman
Star Trek: The Motion Picture (I know this one is arguable. I loved it, but I see its flaws)
Phantasm
Friday the 13th
Logan's Run (if you're a sci-fi lover and haven't seen this movie, you are incomplete)
Zardoz (Okay, I'll grant you, this one's a little strange)
The Godfather
Young Frankenstein
Apocalypse Now
Jaws
Rocky
A Clockwork Orange
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (again, I'll grant that this is a bit strange)
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Okay, I think the fact that this movie was from the 70s had nothing to do its next level of strangeness)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (A movie that takes the best of strange)
Enter the Dragon
Tommy (Again, not strange because it's the 70s. Strange because it's the Who).

70s and 80s are my two favorite decades for movies.

What are you thinking about right now?

It just gives me hope that someday, people might think I'm sexy. (Sexy werewolves...I don't see it.)

What I meant by valid medium is that I wish to help make manga more accepted like how comics are in the US as it stands.

I can understand that. I would go in the traditional direction just because I'm a perfectionist, but really, the Western style would probably be more desirable, (largely because, in my opinion, Americans tend not to put the effort into to understanding something that's different.).

I've got a page for you. It didn't scan well, though. I'm going to try again. I've been out of practice so long I was a bit worried, but I came up with something halfway decent and after seeing your artwork, I realized we're about on the same level.

Panelling. I have drawn it in panels (in the traditional bottom left to top right direction), but you should know, simply drawing it that way is not the proper way to panel. The correct way is to draw the individual images, and then panel them separately. The individual images are arranged in a sort of collage. Computer graphics programs makes this really practical, but a lot of online artists think they either have to draw six pictures on a single page, or that they need to conserve materials (this second reason makes more sense). Remember: the bigger it is, the easier it is to work with.

Interested in the Mass Effect just to play the third one, but doubt my computer could handle any of that stuff. If we win could we not just ask you to give our prize to someone else?

After my fiasco with Humble Bundle and NOT getting VX Ace and their support NOT helping, and NOT refunding, and NOT responding to anymore of my emails, for another chance at VX Ace, I'm in.

Did you have problems downloading? Try using Google Chrome, instead of internet explorer.

I'm on Chrome. Humble Bundle worked just fine. My library filled up, I had my Steam keys, but I didn't have Steam downloaded and I ran out of power. The next night, my library was empty and my Steam keys were disabled. After a month of being given a runaround, being berated, and finally being threatened, I was told that what happened was that Humble Bundle's system glitched when accepting the payment, that it deactivated the purchase as a result, then told me it was my fault for using Paypal without fully understanding how their system works, that I wasn't getting a refund, and that they aren't going to correct the matter, and that next time, I should take the time to learn how to pay properly. (No shit. Their rep actually told me this.)

I loved that movie. Bought it on bluray when I saw it in a bargain bin at Superstore. I haven't watched it yet, and I keep meaning to, but I think it is a little too dark for my (nearly) 2 and 5 year olds.
i recommend Land before Time for some joyous fun
That movie... I actually found it more traumatising than Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and Last Unicorn combined. >.<;

It's odd, thinking about it now. Mum was really careful with what we watched growing up (she's super religious) but we got to watch those movies and ones like them without much issue. I guess she figured we'd be able to tell fantasy from reality even at that age.

Oh, it's a bit aged now but I figure the Star Wars fan in you would like it - there's an animated series about Ewoks floating around from the 80s. It's still a pretty enjoyable series for what it is. Apparently you can get the DVDs though I've only ever found the first, myself.

Urrgh, I grew up with Ewoks and even when I was little, I didn't like the show. It was on at the same time as Voltron in St. Louis and Voltron always won out. The Land Before Time, I actually saw in the theater when it came out. I think I was six or seven. I don't have a lot of memories of it.

Well which would be better? Manga direction would be unique, and would help push people into accepting it as a valid medium in the US a bit more.

(Sorry, I'll have something tomorrow. Edit: Actually, I'll take a look at your work so I have a better idea of what you want.). Here in the US, you can find as many mangas in the traditional direction as in the Western direction. I've never studied the marketing and really don't know if one style sells better than the other.

Copyright Fear?

Kaempfer is right.

I've learned a tremendous amount about copyright law in the many years I've been writing. Stealing copyright material isn't as easy as people think. There are laws in place that protect the "fanfiction" writer. Fanfiction is regarded as transformative and therefore, as long as it doesn't directly copy content and cash in trademarked names, is, in theory, legally immune from copyright infringement claims.

Now, your concern. Copyright registration is not necessary. The state merely provides that as a service so you can prove ownership of intellectual property. In fact, the copyright legally exists the moment you create the work to be copyrighted. The problem comes in proving that copyright's existence. In indie game development, this doesn't seem like there would be a problem. Nobody is going to be able to go to a court of law and say that an indie game didn't exist when the archives clearly show that it did.

This was the overriding factor that let me confidently post "Do Broken Toys Go to Heaven." Yes, I risk that short story being stolen, but in fact, I can now easily show its publication on RMN. Nobody can ever make that go away, especially with Kentona's policy of preserving absolutely everything for posterity. I personally don't care if the story is copied and distributed by others. What I am concerned about is that my name is attached to the story. To me, taking my name off the story and then claiming you wrote it would be the true act of theft.

Copyright Fear?

Actually, I have had ideas stolen. That short story I posted in Creative Corner when I first signed up...it was with a tremendous amount of terror that I posted that. But it was with the conviction that Speech is Free and if you have to pay for Speech, then Freedom of Speech has failed. I've had my work stolen and copyrighted against me. So has my father.

He got a media attorney (Larimore Burton) who told him that the industry steals everything. They don't trust their big artists to be able to produce hits so they have entire companies whose sole purpose is to copy unregistered work wherever they find it and then hire an army of lawyers to make sure the victims can't come after them. They steal from other companies and their artists, steal albums from local artists who don't have a major contract, anything they can find.
