Time to take my exit.
I wish it was that easy. But deep down inside I've always been a writer ( it was one of the reasons I started RMing, to fuse writing and artistic ability in one ) and tbh, RM is too limited now for my imagination. The stuff that you see in my games... they would be ten times better in a novel form, especially Tristian. A person's imagination can conjure up images far more powerful than any game, if the story is well written ( one of the reasons I enjoy reading more than playing games ).
Tbh, I've only played around five RPGs since 2001. I'm really not a game nut ( like most game devs here are. I'm a bookworm. Always have been, always will be ).
It's been an interesting five years with RM ( going from a rookie game dev that came here with a pretty crappy fan game to where I am now, and I couldn't do it without this community and the old rpgmakervx.net ). So I can at least thank you for giving me that experience ( especially the writing exp. ).
I suppose while I'm taking an exit from RM game making, I'll probably still hang around this forum. You guys are too awesome. =)

No, I won't take my game pages down. It will remain here. And LoTL is being made into a novella/book form with some drastic changes, so that's not a waste ( I was considering Enelysion, but I figured LoTL's characters were more intriguing ). Maybe one day, I'll write a proper sequel to the game.
Five years is a long time. The communities come and go. While I have come a long way from that Phan game ( Phantasy Star ) that I posted here ages ago ( Oct. 2009, to be exact, the page has long been deleted ), I will still take the skills I got from working on projects.
So yeah, I'm going to shelve RM for a long, long time. I doubt I will come back to it, though ( I can't for the life of me see myself working on a game in my thirties, I'm already 26. Just one of those things ).
But you guys were an awesome crew to be around with regardless. I still have to thank you for your encouragement and support.
Cheers. =)

@Dreaded: That is a really neat screen. Are you using Phantasy Star 4 sprites as a base? Because I spot a Wren. XD
@unity: Yes, it is for a distant project of mine, meant to be a love letter to the classic Phantasy Star games ( speak of the devil ).

Finalised screen.

When is it *good* to abandon a project?
I suffer from this a lot. Most of it comes from a lack of motivation and my brief periods of depression only worsen it as well. A lack of comments ( especially over at RMW ) is probably the biggest killer for me as well, because it does actually slow down my drive to work on my projects. I value feedback above all else, after all.

Yeah, I'm still fixing up those animation issues. The back has been bothering me for a while. And the first face set was meant to be the character's younger self. XD But hey, all practice for a distant sci-fi project. XD
Phantasy Star, anyone. :p No, not a fan-game. XD

Tristian: Lady of the Lion
Ah, you're not the first person to get stuck there. XD ( I need to put it up on the main page ). In that room with the poison holes, you need to move the statue on the right of the room to the left block ( the blocks that are laid out in a cross ). You can then move the statue in the middle to the right block of the cross.
