A Balance Question for Everyone

author=halibabica
Um, no. Duplishrooms are very much a thing. I'm adding them in along with the stars, so you don't need to worry about it.

I think Punkitt meant, dropping this page. Perhaps they just saw this page(in which case, I don't think they've seen it before) and noticed the problem was already dealt with, without their input?

When I get the chance to continue doing videos(should be soon, hopefully), I'm gonna need longer recording sessions. XD

Other specifics will be covered in-game as they arise, like power-ups, quicksand, and ice physics (and cheese).

Seriously though, glad to hear Hali! :D

Not sure when the next time I'll be able to upload a video will be, due to personal issues currently going on. Just wanted to let you guys know this in-case any questions on why other Custom Level Showcases for Animebryan's remaining levels or Seiromem's levels haven't been done.
Given te end-date is coming soon, I'm not sure the test videos will be necessary anyways. Unless, Hali would be watching them or something.

Normally I don't allow mini-boss NPCs to be used commonly either. It's been an issue in this series before. Bryan's stage is a rare exception. It's a reference to Mario RPG's final area where the bosses you fought in the adventure are rolling off conveyor belts. It's basically the only circumstance where I'm okay with it.

Alright. In that case, I can understand. :3
I never played the Mario RPGs, heard most if not all of them are pretty good.

Tangledlion's Super RMN World Let's Play(Complete)

Ah, Oil Oasis, my favorite level of the ones I made for Super RMN World 1.
And yes, you DID here MLP in there. lol

When you began talking about the P-Switches, I felt a little weird. I legit have a World 1 stage that uses the P-Switch as it's main gimmick. However, with Hali's help I made sure to be able to block off some sections containing Flowers so that it'd be impossible to break them.

I personally endorsed his use of the boss NPCs as normal obstacles. I could see you having trouble if you actually tried to fight off the spawning bosses, but they're not required to be battled and sticking around with them is a bad idea because more of them spawn in.

Oh. I... didn't know that. And as Animebryan mentioned afterward, and I knew this, without the bosses, it wouldn't live up to its name.
It's honestly just a personal pet peeve of mine - like I said, even with Zelda-based levels, where it'd actually makes a little more sense, I don't like using them as normal enemies. Guess it's just a personal problem.

Keep in mind, pyrodoom isn't playing with a controller, but the keyboard, which makes precision movements & timing difficult. In fact, playing these levels with a keyboard only makes the levels seem harder than they really are for people who actually use controllers. This concerns me.

@pyrodoom: You really shouldn't try to post the video until it's done processing & published.

Yeah, I kinda expected this to happen with the video. Want to know what's sad?
Does a sleeping computer slow it down, or something? Like, closing the computer but not completing turning it off? I went to school and went to a job - it's been 12 hours, and it's STILL not fully done. Jesus.
Also, about the keyboard thing, I'm gonna mention this now: I tried a controller yesterday and it SUUUCKED. I'm guessing XBox 360 controller isn't a good one to use... then again, I don't know what controller Animebryan is using.
I am just used to keyboard controls, and I've found that I can get used to almost any 'handicap' as long as it's not too major. Like, my computer seems to have the issue that Hali described:
author=halibabica
However, I do know some keyboards are set up such that they can't detect when certain keys are being pressed simultaneously. Those keyboards suck and they can't handle SMBX too well.

And I'm still fine. .3.

Finally got this level done.
Don't you think this level is a little too long? By your standards of video length, it's a short game in itself. This would be a three parter video if I decided I didn't want to generally go over about 20 minutes.
Then again, I did do all sections, and however awkward my thought process was as I was playing the level, jumping between "I'm going to get the flowers" to "I'm not getting the flowers anymore" out of random. I have to say, all flowers are easy to get except for the last one, which given the fact all levels should have been optional to get through the barriers, putting a flower at the end of the W8 minilevel felt like a dick move.
While I liked the level, it was barren, lacking in scenery, in some sections while others were claustrophobic and made it hard to jump without hitting a ceiling, a potential consequence of making such a big level.
Since the weekend is coming up, I should be able to finally at least do two videos as opposed to one per recording session, which means I can hit Fire and Brimstone and General Flyguy's Armada levels completed soon, meaning I can move on to other levels and make some more edits to A Cheesy Level potentially, which I haven't been giving myself time to do recently.

Also, you forgot to add a little bit before the level officially begins(as in, right behind player spawn) that keeps mushrooms from despawning offscreen - and thus, for this event, I'm adopting your rules. If the levels don't follow he guidelines, I won't complete them.
I meant to say something about this sooner, but this mentality doesn't help anyone. Testing is important so we catch stuff like this too, and refusing to test out of indignation is just cutting off your nose to spite your face. We're human, guys; we all make mistakes and nobody's claiming to be perfect here. Try to have a little more patience.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. While recording that video I wasn't too happy, but it wasn't the level's fault necessarily. I didn't necessarily mean that I just wouldn't test the level, as much as I did say that I wouldn't complete the levels. However, I know that's not really a good mindset to have and that was just a little too harsh.
Still, I believe I was right in at least letting him know my issues with the level in question, Mini-Boss Factory, even despite not having a video to go with it. The recording got corrupted and I'd rather not return to a level that pissed me off that much for round 2. Simply put: change the boss enemies to normal enemies, turn down the enemy spawn rates. Then it should be good.

Stage List

I've just watched Animebryan's video of Turbulent Temple all the way through.
I'm scared now.

I should probably heed his warning - in my current set-up, I am NOT gonna be able to play that level as it is.
