Off topic: I was reading your words, and it sounded like something you would say, then I looked at your avatar, and I was like...why do you look so bored all the time? XD Did you sprite it yourself? It's awesome!

On topic: I have realized the same issue may occur between my first castle, and the second castle. Guess what the issue is? They don't feel like castles. I defintely increased the difficulty, but don't worry, no Jelectros. Just like the first one, the difficulty will slide on a curve, if you will, a difficulty curve.
I made it look like a pyramid more than a castle because it's a palace. You may know what I mean when I release the palace, but remember, IT'S A CASTLE.

Ok, I'm having trouble obtaining music. Not finding it like "Oh, what would go good here?" but finding like, "WHERE THE HELL CAN I FIND A DOWNLOAD THAT WOOOOKRKSKSKS *rage*"

I can't seem to be able to do shit, all the MP3s I've downloaded, when I play the MP3, no sound comes. WHY!?!

No, they don't, I was suggesting you changed the Jelectro graphics to Amp graphics
Amps are similar to Jelectros in job, they sit there waiting for some idiot unlucky adventurer to fall into their electrical traps, except that Jelectros are made to be invincible, immobile, underwater enemies and as of such, look ridiculous in castles... or anywhere above water for that matter...

Amps are invincible but they can be mobile or immobile and they don't necessarily have to be underwater... meaning it generally looks better instead of cartoonified jellyfish...

...ok...but that doesn't fix the problem with the jelectros being too much, plus my level was already rejected anyway, so you're kind of late in the first place.

Place as in what the stage is suppose to be? Or place as in where to give it to me?
Give it to me through PM, and the stage should be a last castle, Hellish Yard esque area. It's the final area for the whole game, and the Nightmare world in general.

I think we have to ditch this one. There wasn't one moment where I felt this was a castle: Most of it felt like padding, with no real purpose to it. Plus, its ginormous. All the rooms are way way too big. And the empty space makes it seem haphazardly designed. It was more like a Sonic level than a Mario one. There wasn't a whole lot of challenge to be offered from the obstacles. I like some of the concepts you used though: Like the boos you had to bounce across, or the drop into the rotating firebar.

My advice to you is to try and make a tighter and simpler castle. Don't even touch the Top or Bottom level borders: Only the Left and Right ones. You tried to go a bit too grand with this one I think. I want to see what you can make when you only have a little space to work with.

I understand what you mean by this, but I don't understand how this seems to be a Sonic level to you, besides the music. Sure I was inspired by the music, but not by Sonic. But since I now know it's not in the project, I guess I can have a second attempt with the stage, major issue though...I kind of already started a level for this, and it was a Desert Palace, but knowing that you told me I should go simple, and pretty much not tuch Top or Bottem at all, only Left and Right...I am confused. Should I enter my Desert Palace, or should I take your advice as much as I can, meaning the Desert Palace becomes void of purpose.

Visually bland for the most part. Plays all right though. It's not particularly interesting. The sections with jelectros and rinkas is extremely tough; I'm not sure if it's possible to get through without getting hit.
It is possible...at least as small Mario. I tried it as Super Mario, and I did well by getting past the first part of the spiral, but then ended up getting hit. Probably because Super Mario is a bigger target.
So to my earlier question, and I hope it's answered, please, just please tell me, what the fuck is an amp.

Not to mention those donut blocks disguised as normal bricks will drop you into lava in less than a second.
This is where the graphics affect gameplay! If you notice, the disguised blocks are always above/under broken pillars, and have no background to them. About the less than a second part..... reaction time =P.

It seems not everyone is on my level of skill. But still, I'm stubborn and want more opinions on how hard it is. I want it to be hard as hell, but still be able to have fun with it.

I seriously suggest that you make that spiral easier, it is rediculously hard, especially to say it's impossible to get any power-ups during that time...
May I also suggest changing the Jellyfish to, I dunno, Amps?
Good level to start with, then there was just too many enemies, lay em off a little bit...

Fun Level: 7/10 (That jellyfish spiral is just plain annoying, otherwise)
Castle Level: 9/10 It's underwater, which is ok...
Difficulty Level: 4.5/5 or at least for the spiral, the rest is about 3.5...

My thoughts on Air Fortress:

Missing cloud tiles in some locations. Bad.
Those spiked clouds? Not enough time to get through them. A bit too difficult.
Pipe that spawns homing koopas. Very annoying. Can lead to an impossible situation.
Switches should make some kind of noise when you hit them.
Overall, not a bad level. You've definitely improved.


I can't seem to find these clouds... I'll do a full-scale search... Tomorrow...

What's an amp?
And sorry for the high difficulty in the spiral, but about the enemies, the only play I can think of that as a problem is on section 2, and I was going for difficulty, plus I felt that as long as you can get through without taking a hit it will be fine. Don't worry, I'll fix the problems when I learn what an amp is. :3

Not unless you're on a team, in which case you would either drag the person down, or they would pull you up. But then, there's also if someone joins that registered after you.
BTW, since this is an SMBX thread(contest or not it's a thread), I have a question for you. On your side of SMBX, how are things going?

Finished, get ready to rip your balls off! Because I sure did when making this. XD
I have to say, it's only achievement to me, is being able to go from easy, to ball breaking hard. XD Pretty much, I will make a new stage, and hope it makes up for the Jelectro/Rinka corridor. At least you can get through it without taking a hit.
