Eight Directional Movement Delay

I'm working on a game with an eight directional movement system and I'm wondering if there should be a delay in movement to make it easier to idle in a diagonal position. Without a delay, I noticed the timing to idle in a diagonal position is stricter.
Here's an example:
When the player presses up and right they'll move diagonally in that direction. While in motion, if the player holds up and lets go of right they'll start moving up and if they let go of up they'd idle in the up facing direction; however, if they wanted to stop moving and idle in a diagonal facing direction they would have to let go of up and right at the same time, however due to player input error this doesn't always happen. I've found this happens a lot more on a gamepad versus keyboard.
By adding in a delay, before the player can move in a non diagonal direction, it makes it easier to idle in the diagonal position but this could affect the player in a situation where they wanted to move instantaneously. It's basically a trade-off of more precise aiming vs. tighter movement controls.
Use the one that you feel will help the player most. Who needs to idle in a game? There better not be a mini-game in your game called a waiting contest! I believe you should do the non-idling idea, where you can move instantaneously.

In all honesty it seems kind of odd to use an RPG engine to make a movie.
Have you heard of visual novels/comics? You should consider making one of those instead, depending on the point-of-view your planning on using.
For example, in first-person, you're the main character and can choose among dialogue options that progress the plot, and maybe even change the outcome. Like movies, these can be based mainly on plot and story rather than gameplay, but it'd make the game a lot more fun and accessible to RPG Maker players.

That said if you close a window just as your parents come in they are going to assume it was porn. So if it's something that's not as bad as porn, you should probably just leave it open and explain it.

Have you ever heard the term Movie-Game? I just heard it on this one post on the Nordic Mythology thread, and lately I've been thinking of doing a movie with RPG maker. No voice actors, just cutscenes. This also means that if I change my mind about the voice actors thing, I'm going to start asking people. I've been thinking of what my first movie could be about, and thought up 2 ideas, and I'm not sure which to pick, 1 has a reason why, and the 2nd is just being used as a test idea.
1.Imagination Adventure:Pyroboom Episode 1- This would be a little mini series including Pyro Team, Evil Pyro Team, and the other Teams in the fight. The reason I would choose this is because it could be a way to finally make my dream come true, though...unofficially. You see, when me and my girlfriend were together, we made up this little game when we were younger, and ever since then quite a lot has changed. The ideas in 'my' version ranged from a show on Nick Jr.(back then) to a show on Adult Swim(now) and probably higher, while my girlfriend's was a fantasy esque modern day thing where she was the more powerful out of the 2 characters.
Now that I got that out of the way to explain this idea, let's go to number 2.
2.RMN the Movie: Again, just a test run. Don't even know what it would be about. It could just be a test run and not even be released. Don't know how I would do it, it just seems like a nice idea to try and find sprites of my friends here...or make some...and just do what I want with it.
Seriously though, could I get some tips about this. I'm not even sure if this has been tried before. What do you think about this idea, do you think this is a good idea, it doesn't matter to you, or do you hate the idea? Which maker do you think this would be best on(besides VX Ace and XP, those can go die in a fire for all I care right now. Don't ask)?
Please tell me. Thanks!

Yes, my parents don't know about me getting VX and 2K3 on my dad's PC, and they will never know if I want to stay on here. They told me no downloading, and they allowed me to get SMBX only. But I get bored after a while, and being a developer, to me it only makes sense to make other games then the same type game over and over. As long as my dad's computer doesn't get a virus(and it shouldn't because I got them from 2DRPG and here) or crashes, I should be fine.
